This topic just reached a thousand posts! Wow!

I forgot if this applies to story threads but that usually means it's locked and Sis will have to make a new one......that only usually though...

Since you were able to post, this thread is obviously not locked. ;)

Suscription Post:D

brilliant story, absolutely captivating

Well done, Sisutil - well worth reading through - I was going to go to bed three hours ago but it was too absorbing.

Looking forward to the next installment.

Pah, that's nothing. I got like two hours of sleep last night because I was reading through the entire thing.

Great story!

you guys should have 'rationed' your reading.

now you have to wait in agony with the rest of us...

mmm begining to regret reading everything in one go.

still, cannae wait for the next installment.

Unfortunately whereas when I read a paper book I can shove a bookmark in where I finished last night and pick it back up again, no such thing is possible with a thread this length.

Mind you I have been known to read a whole non-fiction linguistics textbook while sitting waiting for a job interview, so rationing my reading is something I don't find too easy at all.

No, I haven't lost interest, and yes, it will have closure. In fact, I wrote the end to this saga months ago. It's all the in-between stuff that sometimes takes awhile. ;)

When you write this story, do you make a broad plan first? And when you do, do you start writing ahead in certain sections of your story and come back to other parts like Scipio's afterwards?

Also, when you do certain updates, do you post them just after you have typed them up on another program (do you use another writing program like Word?) or do you post the update only if you know that you are done with the update AFTER that, just so you know that the updates will transition well?

I did start with a broad overall plan for the collection of stories, though that has, inevitably, changed over time. I'd say at this point that we are at least 3/4 of the way through, with the end in sight. Barring further inspiration, I have only a few more (shorter) installments planned after Scipio's story is done.

I usually prefer to write a few sections ahead and gradually post them (and yes I usually work in Word, then copy and paste over here), though sometimes that doesn't always happen, as in the current case. I have to get back to writing the rest of Scipio's story soon.

Looking forward already, Sis, but don't rush. Luckily this forum's "View First Unread" isn't broken like on many others, so the thread is always bookmarked where I left off last time.

Oh,oh. Read this thread in the last few days and now am in the same boat as your other fans, impatiently awaiting another update.

Your imagination and storytelling abilities are first rate. I thought something had gone wrong with my monitor while reading the last part of the great lighthouse episode because the screen was blurry, then realised that I was viewing through watery eyes. I was that moved. That doesn't happen to an old cynic like me often. :old: You have great potential as an author, sir. :hatsoff:

Keep up the good work. I look forward to the next episode with great anticipation. :coffee:

Subscribed, of course.

So how long is this overall story? I'm guessing the 250-300 page range in Word.

Tough to say, I save each distinct story as a separate file; I haven't bothered opening them up to count pages.
