Pro Gloria Thracia - A R:TW DarthMod AAR

Well I had a nicely written update but then photobucket decided to crash my browser.

262 BCE

General Nodikus takes Thessalonica with the defenders barely putting up a fight. There he raids the armorey and further upgrades his troops.

The Thracian pltrasts once againd proved tehir long-established effectiveness against hoplies and pikemen, decimating the enemy infantry before Nodikus's infantry moved in to finish them off.

Nodikus and another general I forget the name of (I havn't assgend one of you to him yet) ambush a retreating Macedonian general and his survivng levy pikemen who were fleeing a Dacian army.

Nodikus was personally leading a scouting party up a mountain pass to the south of Pella when he was ambushed by another small Macedonian army. His troops, which were only a short distance behind, quickly arrived but had almost no time to form up and had to improvise a line to hold the Macedonians back, with their three calvary units and general harassing the left flank.

Ultimately, with the mounted skirmeshers drew the calvary away and put them to flight, with the falxmen scything through the pikemen's flanks, the Macedonian army crumpeld and was crushed.

dammit scamp, making me want to buy Rome again just before Napoleon's ambition comes out

and that nameless General could be fixed....:p

Good, More dead Greeks. Lets keep pushing south before the Romans arrive to complicate things.

Well I had a nicely written update but then photobucket decided to crash my browser.

I write them in a word processor first, then copy-paste it onto the thread. Less chance of me hitting the reply button early or something else as silly, and it means I have the updates all saved somewhere.

Nice battles :D

Yeah I'm going to do that next itme. And thanks, although now I wish I had upped the difficulty, it's set to medium (I forgot to change it when I began). I think I'll make two armies too, so that I have two smaller forces, which will be closer to the size of armeis they are attacking me with.

Anyways, we have a few choices of which Macedonian city to attack next.

1) There is an island city off the coast of Turkey.

2) The city on the coast ot the south.

3) The city to the north bordoring Dacia.

4) The city to the west of #3.

Great start. :D

I think we should attack the coastal city to the south. The island city can be left till later (what's our navy like?)

Take the city to the north(if its rebel)

There aren't any rebel cities near me BTW. There WAS one, but it fell to Pontus early on before we got a navy.

Currently our navy is two fleets of 4 briemes. I can easily blockade that Island. However it has abotu 4 or 5 sea routes of trade going into it, so I WILL take it eventualy. The cities to the north are very lightly defended. One only has a general and one pikeman unit. The other one's garrison was weakedned after a Dacian siege. THe city to the south should also bring in some revenue.

Keep discussing.

Is the city to the south (option 2) a barbarian city or greek one?
