Procylon's Call to Power Project

As to that weird ctd, i would say it happens at least once per game, but not always at the same point in the game. You could be right about the map script, but its not always a constant crash, just one of those strange bugs.

Sometimes i receive this bug when i improve a tile(farms with mine or with a gp), or when i open the city panel. Maybe this will fixed by the next patch (scroll bug). But the ctp happens most when the cpu is getting to hot, also i can reload the game and play again.

First kudos on a great mod people.

Sadly I'm addicted to huge maps on marathon with max civ's, and always meet a crassh wall at 300-600 turns. I can push my way through with zooming and strategic. But since it only get my through 1 or 2 turns before new crash I'm getting tired.

Hopefully the new patch will clean up the chrash issue a bit.

Hopefully the new patch helps, though I didn't see that many crash fix lines in there.

Is it xml that you need done? If so I could do that for you! Just tell me the folders and what to put it in, and id be happy to help. XML is about the only thing I know how to do. Plus, my job doesnt start til middle of next month, so i have some time if you wanted some of the more tedious work done. Just thought Id offer.

Well I am mostly done with the heavy xml work anyway. Thanks for the offer though. :)

Hey D just thought of something: will Arabia's unique building double all amounts of resources? If so, that would make them really strong, as they can build the highest tier buildings with just a deposit of two. I don't know if it needs to be changed, but it's something to think about.

There are no more "luxury" resources in the game, so no. However you are right that there are potential problems, as suddenly governments like Fascism have the potential to be economic powerhouses.

I am going to have to look closely at all the strategic resource increasing policies and whatnot and ensure there both systems mesh well.

I did not play vanilla that much, as I went right into this mod as I bought the game. But, I'll just tell you what I noticed. It seems that in the late eras, we get too much of everything, (if people reached 256k like stated, isn't it too much?), and it affects things such as city states. If you gain 5000 gold a turn and you only need 1000 gold to max a city state, that means you can ally with 5 city states a turn, it's a little too easy.

Would it be possible to change this cost depending on the era? Because right now with the fixed price, in ancient era you can't even bother paying a city state, and once you hit renaissance it becomes a joke. Or simply, make an average of every civ's gold per turn generation, and use this average to determine the cost for "buying" a city state. This way, only the civilizations considered wealthy IN THE CONTEXT would be able to spend money on such things. Because we all know, contexts differ a lot, if you put 3 civs in a huge map or 18 civs in a tiny map, the civ's money will be totally different and I think we need to account for that.

Well honestly city state influence was a joke in Vanilla too, though it took a bit longer to reach that point.

There is not really a way to currently change city state gold like this. It is simply a number in a global defines file.

It is something that I am going to have to look into, and hopefully some other mods make some decent changes to the system so that I can integrate them into CtP.

You aren't married are you D?

I am, and the "things" I mentioned was shopping. :crazyeye:

hey since the aqueduct is going to be a vanilla building for the new patch, are u going to take it out of the mod?

Yeah, when the patch comes out I will need to scan the patch notes and update accordingly. For the aqueduct I will have to update their version because 40% food kept would sink the balance completely.

Have they said yet that this patch will fix the scroll bug? I heard they are aware of it but still looking for a fix.

I think i read one the 2k site, , but i am not really 1000%sure.

Maybe I will investigate later. :p

Is 80x80 the resource icon size? I don't really know anything about the specific art dimensions.

Here's the exact "kind" of Icons below that will get used for each Total_Mods right on the left of the Timer meter while ingame and in a number of places such as Civ referencing columns of the vanilla HOF.
Resources are self_resizable once zoomed and require multiple DDS files up to 256 pixels each.

There are no more "luxury" resources in the game, so no.

If there are no more luxuries, do you have any ideas on what to substitute the building effects with? Having a unique building that doesn't do anything is really unfair. I think adding happiness to the building (1 or 2) will make up for the lost revenue/happiness resources that could have been traded.

I know this is off topic, but Zyxpsilon, your name seems so familiar as does that logo. Did you make stuff for GC 2 and such? Or maybe I saw your name in another mod here. I do use your Advisors mod and like it alot. Doesnt conflict with this one and i like the different persons you used.

The last I read from Greg2k about the scrollbug said that they are working on it but can't replicate the bug. This was after the patch notes unfortunately.

I have resource icons, but what is that icon you posted for?

All monopoly buildings will have some base happiness most likely. Perhaps some more than others. The general effect you got from luxuries will exist, but you will have to build it. And of course since you can build more than the 1 building, you basically get happiness from the extra resources.

This doesn't really address Arabia's problem for instance, but I don't really want to touch civs right now.

im not surprised they cant replicate the scroll bug...neither can I. But it does happen and trying to make it happen usually means you cant haha. Ive tried everything, but I just cant get it to work, then when im actually playing boom there it is. Why dont they have a way when Civ 5 crashes that it makes some kind of report? Wouldnt that help them?

I think the scrollbug has a lot to do with dx11 and videocard drivers. I get it more often on large and huge maps. Doesn't matter if I'm using mods or not either.

Can someone explain what the scroll bug is to me? My assumption is it is a bug where you CTD on zooming out OR it is a bug where the game crashes when the camera auto-zooms during AI turns.

wellllllllllll we can add ressources so? or i read it not correctly and it's repalcing the vanilla ressources?

if we can add some then it's exactly what i have said before : it's come faster than we imagine héhéhé and it's perfect!!!

haaaa remind me sevo mod with all this ressources whoooohooo

I believe it's during late-game, where the auto-unit cycling takes you half-way across the world at high speed, which the loading may be too much for the CPU.

For me it mainly happens when I have auto-cycle units on and cycle through cities that are far apart. But once I get a large portion of the map explored I do have to stay in Stratgetic view only. Its not like I have a minimum spec PC either.

I can say that the scroll bug occurs in DX9 too, as that's what I play. Also, I get this wierd problem where I can't select production in my cities nor purchase city tiles. Has anyone had this or does anyone know how to prevent this? This city bug is actually my biggest problem since it forces me to reload the game; unfortunately, after a certain point reloads aren't possible anymore

I have replaced the way in which the Vanilla resources are generated on the map, but they are still there. In addition to 13 new resources, for a total of 40.

I had to recycle all the resource terrain art, but the icons help them stand out pretty well I think.

Also if you are zoomed out pretty far and decide to scroll your map at any above slow rate of speed, you run the risk of the crash.

Not sure, but it is possible that your production broke from being too high. If it well over several hundred thousand, it could be the case. As for the tile purchase, that is a new one.

Bad news on the FontIcon front. I spent some time today trying to trick the game into accepting another .ggxml file into it's GlyphSetAscii, but all of it resolves on game load, so appending seems impossible at this time.
