Procylon's Call to Power Project

Glad to know you are ok Dec. I think many of us are taking breaks and I havnt touched Civ 5 in awhile. Im tired of the ctds and slowdowns and im puzzled too why they having gotten out what they said they would. Hopefully in the future we can start this back up and have some fun. Meanwhile, stay safe over their buddy!

Hey guys, sorry for the long unexplained absence.

Honestly, I can't even say it was because I was completely busy, though that is how it started. I have hit this wall of complete disinterest in Civ 5 and have been taking a break recently. I have even tried to guilt myself back into mod mode to tie up some loose ends for you guys, but even that hasn't been able to get me going.

So I am sorry to say, I think it is time that I officially enter hibernate mode for Civ 5. Given DLL access or perhaps significant nexus fixes I could see myself becoming interested again, but I don't know if that itch will hit me before then. And hopefully that does happen, because I do want to see this completed at some point..

I am actually kind of surprised that the DLL hasn't come out by this point, and that is part of my loss of motivation. Mostly though, I think having real life jerk me away for awhile has taken me out of gear and set me on the hunt again for something interesting.

The worst part of it for me is that you guys have been so amazingly supportive, especially those of you who tested and provided content for the mod. But, I hope you guys take a break too and come back when we get more to play with in the future. :)

I will probably check for patches and news every so often to see if anything interesting is happening. I will probably try to fix any mod-breaking patches if anyone is still playing the mod whenever that happens.

Anyway, thanks again for all your help and I will see you around. :)

Thanks for letting us know D. However, instead of saying goodbye to you and this mod, I'll instead say I'll see you when things are better :). Like many others here, I have taken a break from CiV, but now that the summer is almost here I will likely return, at least sparingly.

In the meantime, I second FredMB's remark about the code, but I also understand if you want to hold on to it.

And while you take your break, check your private messages; I have some ideas about a few things here and there along with some game reports to present. Oh, and when the .dll is released, please know that I will be spamming your pms until you come back :D. Just imagine the awesomeness of you, CaptainBlinky, and lemmy on here again.

Have fun, stay safe, and I can't wait to see you on here again.

PS: I find it ironic that my last post says that when D gets back this thread will be the most active one here. Just to prove a point, in a one day period 7 replies have come in, and that was with D saying he would be taking a break for a while. Imagine what would have happened if he released an update :crazyeye:

Heya fellas,

I've been an avid fan since Civilization 1, and like so many others i felt that Civ 5 was way too short and unfulfilling. Then when I saw this thread, and read about all that had been done to modify and enhance this game, I was ecstatic.

However, I ran into some issues. When downloading the 9.0 alpha from page 1 here and extracting it manually into my MOD folder, it would crash the game as soon as I entered Civ 5 menu, and clicked Mods -> Single Player. Additionally, when I attempted to download 8.0 through the modfinder in-game, it would crash the game when attempting to start it.

I have not been able to locate any other versions out there, and have attempted to clear the cache.

I'm rather new to this whole modding thing, but from what I can read, I have done everything correct.

I would be very, very grateful if anyone could help me to get this wonderful mod to work.

Thank you kindly in advance.

I believe this doesn't work due to the latest patch. I've heard it's broken most mods and I doubt this one is any different. Not sure how you can roll it back either. I'd be glad to be proven wrong though!

so i'm not the only taking break :) let's see about the future.
(wanna have the religion stuff here) have fun people.

Thanks for all the many many hours that you put into your mod D, was alot of fun to play and mess around with. Hopefully dll and graphics get sorted soon and you get inspired to return, until then I hope you have a good one.

Has anyone experienced issues with all the TERRAIN types giving vanilla yields, but all the FEATURES on the terrain giving the intended amounts of resources, and if so, know how to fix it? Thanks :)

Anyone have an issue with not being able to see the tech tree? I can't see the tree nor do I have any selectable techs on the side bar. ??

This mod hasn't been updated for the latest patch and Decimatus is taking a break from updating it. That being said, clearing your cache and ModUserData folders/verifying your cache on Steam can sometimes solve these problems.

Aye, figured the issue was related to patch, so I uninstalled and downloaded a patch updater that only updated to .5, which allowed me to play it the game at all. (On previous version, I was unable to even launch the game.

Could you tell me which was the last functioning patch where the mod worked?

I think v8 worked alright for 1.0.1.217, (some maps don't work regardless of the patch number), but there were a few bugs from what I recall. 1.0.1.135 probably provided the most stable experience - at least on my machine. Others that played the mod more could probably offer a better opinion, though.

I guess this is a stupid question, but since this mod is dead, are there any other mods that match the amount of content like this one?

I'm looking for one, but there are tons, any suggestion? Really appreciated.

Try Civilization NiGHTS. Lots of features, and Markus is developing a huge update in the future.

That's a shame, personally I think Civ Nights is built on some really bad ideas.

Actually it's pretty good, but is in a class of its own. In the end its all a matter of what you like and what you are willing to try out. For some, it's pretty cool but for others, not so much. That doesn't necessarily make it a "Bad" Idea.

MXX

Wow, that's the other best mod out there? It doesn't have new techs and barely have new content.
I want a ROM experience, CTP at least filled part of that.

Seriously, just CTP has this amount of content? There is no another mod like this?

for example

It doesn't add new tech or units, that's enough for me.

:cry:Dead Man Walking
So i played with the last patch and v9, i really enjoyed it. My game settings Huge, Marathon, Continental, Diety, 22 Civs, 20 CS and high resources.
Very good feeling, no significant problems before turn 300.
No CTD Walls, it seems that the games is getting more stable.
I wish Decimatus you will enjoy the game again. Sometime:lol:
