Project preview; Early industrial units

Now I cant wait for this unit now. That unit reminds me of thoes Solders during the War of 1812 and in the movie Amastad. Are you still doing the Super Ironclad?

Yes the super ironclad will be nececary for my scenario, so it will get done. I will also need the ship of the line, so that will get done too.

I already have the pre-dreadnaught in my game, and it looks superb!

The previews of the "super-ironclad" are far out! What a cool looking ship!
I love the character of your units!
I always liked the Jules Verne scenario in Civ2 MGE, and these units remind me of that.

Looks like another winner is in the pipeline!

I'm not sure when rifling became widespread. I don't think "repeating rifles" were used in combat until the mid to late civil war, and then only by the Union since they could afford them. A huge advance in warfare, so the effectiveness of early civil war infantry was much less than later.

Sorry, that doesn't have much to do with anything.

Someone should make a "Zuave" unit from the Civil War, with bad stats. They learned the hard way that colorful uniforms are best fitted to band and not war. Dopes.

I think the Napoleonic Riflemen is perfict the way it is . I wonder what the name of the "Napoleonic Riflemen" should be? A good name for this unit would be the Grenadier .

I just started work on my ultimate Napoleonic Wars scenario (better than my Civil War one!), and these units you're working on will be excellent! I look forward to the Ship of the Line, Dragoon, Lancer, Rifleman/Grenadier units especially, they'll be perfect for the scenario! An 'Eastern Rifleman' Would also be an excellent addition that I couldn't appreciate more. I can't wait for you to finish.

No, Grenadier had not the same uniforms, and they were more elit units. Why not "Fusillier"?

I'm reading Catch 22 at the moment, so I may make the heavy bomber; I tend to do whatever is on my mind at the time- I need complete attention otherwise I get sidetracked and end up doing nothing.

After that it will probably be the super ironclad (slightly adjusted, im not too keen on th bridge section) and then perhaps the ship of the line; I'm also thinking of doing an early cannon, and an early artillery as well as a heavy static artillery, (something Ive been meaning to do for a while).

Thats a great book smoking mirror. I have read my copy so many times that it has reached that worn, warm, comfortable feel stage... If that makes any sense. Each time I read it I find something else in it I missed the last time too.

Yes that might be cool. More Industrial Age artillary would be good. Don't ask me which though. I'm rubbish at 19th century weaponry.

How about a Dreadnought style battleship? TVA22 made a great one, but it doesn't have any civ-specific colors on it.

Alos, the Destroyer in the game looks a little advanced for its time. Maybe an older looking one might be a good call?

I agree , There needs to be a unit to fill the gaps in between the Frigate and the Destroyer. The Super Ironclad would do nicely for an Armored Cruiser to fill the gap in Early 1900's, Another gap to fill is the period between World War II and to the end of the Cold War.

Im working on a type 42 destroyer which i will finsih on saturday (working tomorrow). I meant to do it earlier on in the week but i didnt get the time in the end cos i got asked into work when i wasn't supposed to. Only got half of the death to go. I will use it was the modern british destroyer over the oringinal, but for the time being it could also be used as a flavour unit before the original....its really up to the whoever downloads what they want to do with it.
