Be the first Civilization to build 30 colesiums in 30 cities. You automatically unlock the "superbowl" providing you have the tech of Mass Media.

Once you build the Superbowl you automatically win the game regardless of how stronge or powerful your opponents are!!!

I think you US-dudes overestimate the impact of the Superbowl on the Worlds politics/economy/powers :p

I still like your idea :D

Maybe a national wonder, you can select 'Super Bowl', 'World Cup' or some random never-ending cricket match? :p

:D I notice you live in New York. I wonder if that had anything to do with your idea :mischief:

P.S. I watched the game last night and enjoyed the fourth quarter very much. The best American Football game I've seen for many years.

YOR DAMNED RIGHT IT IS!!!!!

Been a fan since the 1970's. Never thought I would even see a game as great as the Giants Superbowl win in 1991 but this one certainly passed that. I can also tell my brother to shut his mouth about Broadway Joe Namath's 1969 Jets.

Apologies to our non-American friends regarding the post, but you gotta understand the fanatcism regarding Pro-Football in the states, especially when you team wins the biggest upset in the game's History. I have been trying to get a friend of mine from Boston (the city where teh New England Patriots are stationed) if I can get an autographed copy of that book 19-0 which was suppoed to go on sale today. So far no answers, I wonder why?:D

SO how does that sound for a RPC, Roosevelt must build 30 colesiums and mass media before anyone else!!!!

As a fellow New Yawka, I second Mad Scientist: AWESOME game and it's great to stick to the Mass wholes.

Not a bowl of Cereal, not a bowl of soup. It's a bowl of money!!! At least for the owners, players and media!!!!

@BestBrian, Best was watching Belichick post-game interview. Bascially one line answers, no credit to the Giants. A classless coach and worse sport in the game.

Go Giants!!!!

I watched it too. ( well who cares ?)
My point is that if you look where I am from
and if I tell you that I watched till the end ( 4 a.m )
That tells you how huge this game was.
Monday morning was like hell though.

Patriots fan by the way. I thought they would steamroll NY. and go to bed early
knowing the game was in the bag.
I am so glad it didn't unfold like this. Great action, great drama throughout the game.
Man ! when you see that miracle pass Eli pulled off.

Charou, best one ever.

Best thing is beating the 18-0 Patriots. Boston Sports teams (to all out there, New England Patriots are a fancy way of saying BOSTON PAtriots) are all hated and detested by true New York Fans (just like we hate and detest Monty). I am fortunate enough to have a friend from Boston who I have had the pleasure of trashing and harrassing the past 2 days (making irrational demands). My demands for tribute have been accepted by said member, at our next meeting I shalt receive a fairly expensive dinner, an unlimited supply of Guiness Ale, and the good fortune to take a polaroid of the "friend" donning a NY Giants Superbowl 42 championship hat. Either that or an Tom Brady signed copy of the book 19-0.

Life is good when there is a weaker civilization to push arround.

good idea but maybe it could be a game-winning quest that pops up in the right conditions? in fact they could have created some other quests that are very difficult and would grant you the victory.

The true World Wonder is why in God's name didn't the Patriots just run their normal offense??? the play-calling was horrible; so few downfield passes to Moss, etc. which is the reason they got to 18-0 in the first place.

Hey I'm not a New York fan but I do give the Giants credit for taking advantage though. Now if my Redskins can only find a coach for next year...

I think because the Giants were in Brady's face and slamming him to the ground. Hard to throw the ball downfiled when some 250+ lb guerilla is hanging on your jersey or your flat on your back. The Giants sacked him 5 times and hit him after the pass ALOT more. Considering he was sacked just 20 times all year, the team was not equipped to change that fast. Kudos the Brady though, he almost won it anyway (but didn't:D ).

I can understand that, as fan of a Football team from Stockholm, I hate all the peasants out there, especially those from Göteborg.

And also important to mentioned, In my home country Ajax beat Feyenoord with 3-0 :goodjob: (also a derby)

I wanted the Patriots to win, but damn if that wasn't a great game.

The Giants have one man to thank more than anyone else for their victory:

David Tyree

Damn thing or Bueaty. The ironic thing is that the defender was trying so har to get the ball he pulled Tyree onto himself which prevented the ball from touching the ground while on his helmet.

I couldn't get to the parade. The ginat players were getting off the float, handing out hundreds of free hats and teeshirts to the fans. AFter three superbowls the GINATS finnaly got a trip down the Canyon of Champions!!!!

that pass rush/ blitzing should not work all game long because teams eventually burn you by taking some chances with downfield plays and the safeties have to back off at some point.
the Patriots never did that in the first half; they just ran predictable running plays or sideways passes. hence the Giants could rush at will and never have to adjust.

I think that game showed how one-dimensional the Pats are, in a strange kind of way. To win they rack up points early and often, and the rest takes care of itself. Can you believe all season they only have 4 close games (Indy, Philly, Baltimore, NYG)?? Because they are a great team they managed to pull out the win each time, but law of averages will catch up to you and unfortunately for them the SB was their comeuppance

Here's something else to think about: the Giants were the only good team (meaning playoff caliber, or even winning record for that matter) to play the Pats 2 times this season. So in other words the one time that a quality team got a second shot at them, they pulled it off.

I knew this would get sidetracked into too much football talk.. :)

Rest of the world calls americans.... pls respond

A shrine like structure that would give extra cash per colloseum ( or other more modern construction , maybe avaliable with electricity ( this large games need it badly ) ) in the world ( not only of the building civ ) would be a nice idea.
