PW-02 Zombie Nation

I think I played one turn too much...

I was so much into the stuff going around that I didn't realize it before it was too late.

I hope you won't ban me :please: Well, I can't ban myself out of the game... ;)

Moving along.

On the inherited turn, I just took a look at what was going on in this nice world.
What clearly is the greatest advantage in this game is the fact that the AI is still the AI after Toku has been unzombielized (new word, my copyright).
This way it is managable on Prince, IMHO.

IBT

Two cats are suicided on our stack next to Alex, heavily wounding two jumbos.

1420

Litterature - Drama (3 turns )
I have tried to part-research it and ask it from our russian friend, I got myself slapped over the face every single turn...

I suicided one cat to damage the LBows, and got the city with one jumbo loss:

1430

I lurked with a scout at Thebes discovering a very nice target (why attack those lousy cities to the south when the capital looks soooo nice and sooo managable )

IBT

Our brave scout got killed for having peeped on Hatty's city
Hatty, who got a GE in Thebes earlier this turn, has even made it more interesting to capture the city by rushing Spiral in it. You got to love this AI

1450

Drama - Liberalism

1480

Stacking next to Thebes and bombing it. It will take three turns to get defenses at a managable level.

1490

Cathy asks for Education :nono:
She's still friendly. I assume she realized how :stupid: her demand was.

1500

Thebes will be attackable on the next turn, but has 2 LBows and 3 Pikes inside.
Gonna be a bloodbath.

1505

Thebes falls:

I lost three cats on softening the defenses, and almost half of our SoD.
But it was worth it IMHO (pic taken on the next turn) :

IBT Boudica deals fur for rice. I see no need to refuse, as long as it keeps her pleased with the backstabber who will cause her fall :backstab:

HE finished in Kyoto in 1510 AD, just it time to hand the game over.
Theatres are rising, and we will reach the Globe cap in a turn or 2.

Lib is ours in 4 turns.

Regarding the war, we can scr*w Hatty to peace for some techs.
Losing a capital softens a civ quite a bit, and we can get Machinery easily from her.

Our army is still nice, but with Hatty having pikes and LBows, it starts to smell old-timy :)

Handing the game over to r_rolo1.

Nicely done! I wouldn't think capturing Thebes would be possible.

@Betruger

It was :)
Still, wouldn't it be the drafting perspective in a few turns, I'm not sure I would have sent three cats, four Jumbos, four nicely promoted swords and an axe into this bloodbath.

I would go along with r_rolo1, aiming for Muskies instead of the rifles for the first drafting. We can't let Boudi become too powerful.
I'm happy with getting Thebes and cutting the south of Egypt to us - no need to make Cathy more powerful than she already is. On her side, the war is going forward slowly. She sends few troops to the south, concentrating on the northern part of Egypt.

I decided to go NE in Madrid. We have also FP unlocked, Madrid can be a nice play for it too.

Once we quit the war, our eco should, finally, be nice. We have another shrine holy city. Great Lib should do well to our tech rate too. Parthenon is a nice boost too. And the free Spiral we got here will be nice once we put some temples here and there.

Cathy researches Guilds while Boudi is on Mil Tradition (without GPowder - I will never get used to the AI priorities).

I suggest piece for techs asap, then DoW and finish in a few turns, with promoted samurais (up from the swords) and some more forces coming from the new HE city of Kyoto. I would get some siege units too, having suicided most of our cats on Thebes

First, nice one mr pawelo... the war gave us more that we expected :goodjob:

I suggest piece for techs asap, then DoW and finish in a few turns, with promoted samurais (up from the swords) and some more forces coming from the new HE city of Kyoto. I would get some siege units too, having suicided most of our cats on Thebes

What piece of us are you planning to give to Hatty?... :rotfl:

Besides that, I fully agree with the sugestions.

BtW Got it, but will only play tomorrow ( have STR 8 to play as well... oh the joy of being in... *scratch head* oh well, in a high number of SG ;) )

^^I agree..... but I think that a 10 turn peace could do wonders to our army ( that looks extremely shaken )

Especially the Machinery I think we can get out of Hatty :)
A HE speeded city, plus a heavy whip will make a second force pretty powerful and rather fast.

If we have exhausted our army then ten turns of safety and rebuilding our army sounds good. We don't get machinery from her if she's dead you know. If we make peace though she has a decent chance of capitulating to someone else

Hatty capitulanting to catherine could be a good thing.

The negative modifier of "-2 we are afraid of our enemies being vassals to your empire" will hurt Boudica's and catherine's relations badly.

Although i wouldn't want hatty a vassal to anyone.

I'm almost  over my keyboard, so I'll make a decent report later. Just to say that Libed natio ( not revolted yet, no need for drafted samurai ( p.s : maybe should had done that ;) ), got Machinery from a trade with Boobbica that provided the money for the upgrades of our melee units to samurai ( couldn't rip it from Hatty's hands and saw too much maces for confort ). Ap was founded and Boudica is resident ( voted for her... the other option was cathy and boudica doesn't backstab at Friendly :p ). Got a GG that was settled in capitol ( we should not draft from there and use it to make samurai and siege ) and the 10 turns of peace will finish next turn. Hatty seems to be holding against Cathy ( hatty has pikes and the Cathy HA are being eaten alive ).

In 3 ( 2 to finish gunpowder and 1 for revolting for Natio ) turns we'll be able to draft muskets.... and smash hatty for good

Attachments

Seems pretty calm turns r_rolo1.
Happy to see the musket-drafted war coming soon :)
Along with the muskets, we should also aim for some more siege. I don't recall us having trebs, so it may be a nice research goal after the powder. Otherwise, 8-10 cats should do well.

Is Barcelona already Globed ? With it's growth rate, it should be able to whip pretty early :whipped:

Turn 1: Thebes is going to pop a GPerson so hire an engineer there to play the odds.

8fuwp4j.jpg

Turn 2: I get the most confusing event popup ever. I think I ended up voting for Pat Buchanan. Maxwell is born in Kyoto. A golden age is most useful now so I burn him for that. Hatty refuses to part with Engineering.

Turn 3: Gunpowder -> Engineering. Time to get drafting - revolt to Nationhood + Organized Religion (we have no Theology).

Turn 6: Barcelona poisoned. Yekaterinburg falls to Hatty. I see Boudica has too much on her hands, not to mention her chest.

Turn 7: Engineering -> MilTrad. We pop another GS.

Turn 8: Cathy has had enough and votes with the AP to end the war. Now we can beat up on Hatty with no fear of her capitulating to the wrong civ.

6ycfztg.jpg

I already drafted some muskets and sent a truckload of siege towards Egypt. Here is our army, ready to be take Egypt at the command of the next player.

Team should decide what to do with the GS.

Nicy azaris ( @boudica's comment :D)
Too bad DM will miss the Hatty-feast while away...

As for the GS, could we get a nice academy within one of our commerce cities ? Burning him on optics or alike :nono:

Pity Alexandria flipped (or did I miss something?).

Seems to me that Betruger is up.
Can you confirm a got it ?

Alexandria didn't flip ???

I agree. An Academy is the best option. But i'm away from a comp with civ 4 so i don't know which city is best.

It did. To russia unfortunately. I'm about to play my turnset so if you have any suggestions, now is the time :)
