We need to research democracy in a not so distant future.... Emancipation :mad: is hitting us.
Cathy is researching Bio... not good... and Boobbica is still with hands full.

Weird situation.
It would be great to have Hatty DP with both ladies, still it won't happen.
Otherwise, we can go drafting and face both, still I fear this opportunity given the border length and the tech parity (plus, of course, the strength of both)
 
i knew vassalizing hatty would be a bad idea. Well it happened so we have to live with it.

But even if we lose because of the given situation, i think it would be a great lesson to all of us and our lurkers.

but then again i said "if" we lose. We could still win this. :) Is Elizabeth vassalized to boudica? i read the last few turnsets over again and didn't see anyone say is Elizabeth is a vassal. Maybe we could get them to slow downs by getting them to DoW on Elizabeth?
 
How about getting Boudica to declare on Shaka? :lol: while hoping that she send a big stack to the island to attack the lion :lol: while she has the stack over there, we could back stab her. Her defensive Pact with Catherine and us would be over since she attacked shaka, and shaka didn't attack Boudica? Catherine is friendly with us, and will probably drop to please when we attack boudica. We could offer 10 gold for nothing every 10 turns for a peace treaty as an insurance.

Your rationale seems ok, would it work ? What do we have to offer to Booby to attack Shaka that doesn't make her even stronger ?

Still having Cathy DoW Shaka would have the same effect on the DP. Same remark as above though.
 
Must have missed that part. Well that idea is useless now.... How about Catherine? Could we get Catherine to DoW on Shaka? and just backstab her? The only problem with that is that Shaka lion thing is over at an island which catherine has a city on. :( The war between her and shaka would be over soon. BUT we could still attack her. Succesfully? I have no clue. :(

Shaka is weak (1 lion right?) , so i think a smaller price would be enough. like lets say 200 gold? Also attacking Shaka would hurt Boudica/Catherines realtions hard (better for us?). An other problem i found. Catherine is pleased or (friendly been a while since i played) with shaka and might not be able to be bribed into attack him.
 
This idea is a little harder to do...

WE attack shaka, ending our DP with Catherine and Boudica. And we just attack and face both of them at ounce. (or we could just end our defensive pacts with them... :rolleyes: )
 
If we mess up, it could put us at risk. Lets wait to make sure an attack won't bite us in the butt.

Played my turns, don't have time for a detailed report so I'll make it quick.
It was uneventful turnset anyways.

traded for democracy, sci-method and military science (for military academy) on turn 0.

finished researching astronomy, then set research to physics, bulbing half of it with freshly generated GS to make sure we get it first (Boudica was able to start researching it 3 turns before us)

I wanted biology next but it turned out Cathy already has it, but was unwiling to trade yet, so I set research to railroad hoping to trade for biology (which didn't happen in my turnset).

as railroad came in my turnset ended, so I leave to next player choice of what to research next (I recommend combustion or biology, we need oil to build railroads (no coal).
no coal means no coal plants, so we'll better get to hydro or nuclear plants fast.

generally seems to me we overgrow our cities too much, especially those fishing villages. We don't need them to be working 10 2F1C tiles, it's better to assign more specialists instead, which I did.

We should build walll street in Madrid asap, and get some corporation there as well (sushi would be ideal, but we don't have a GM yet).
Also, when biology is in, national park would be nice thing to have in our Globe Theathre city.

I set up Thebes to be our production powerhouse. We loose the benefits of its academy that way, but it was really the only city capable of generating lots of hammers, as it's one of few that is not coastal.
