QIN (Industrious-Deity series)

You also could have DoWed yourself and capture a city, infect & return.

...so I tried the caravel/missionary trick as well and it didn't work. Did you encounter anything similar in these last two games, obs or anyone else for that matter?

I thought it was going to come to that at one point, but then an opening finally arrived where I could gift a missionary on landmass.

Anyhow, it's a shame the AP is so broken. The Religions victory, and Holy War simply has to go. It's just... too easy. I'm sure I could have won with only keeping 1 city the entire game. Yes, on a standard deity map!

Anyway, I will avoid exploiting this wonder for the rest of the series. I think I will crank some things up a few notches by trying a culture victory. I see they are hardly ever carried out here, unless it's some HoF nonsense. I may try with the remaining industrious leaders, trying various different strategies to test it out. But I'll have to do some thinking on it first.

1. Find 3 good city sites
2. Beeline to Music and settle the GA in one city
3. Beeline to Liberalism/Nationalism
4. Cottage (well, I guess you could always farm and run specialists)
5. Crank up culture slider

Don't forget to get many religions and build temples/cathedrals.

Alternatively, beeline all the delicious electricity/radio/mass media wonders, found Creative Constructions, Sid's Sushi and Civilized Jewelers and get yourself a quick late game culture win that way. Takes a bit longer but you'll be safer from attack due to closer tech parity.

It's odd that nobody seems to be suggesting using Wonders to generate Artists for One City and Culture for the Wonderspam city when he's using an Industrious leader. :)

Alright guys, I ran a 3 hour session last night with HC, and we were able to pull it off, timed right down to the last. Interesting thing is, the whole start ended up in total disaster... absolute disaster, but we still pulled through. Which leads me to believe either that was a fluke game, or cultural is also too easy, even for standard.

They need the sid difficulty from Civ III...

I don't remember a 'Sid' difficulty, but there was one step-above deity in the 'Conquests' expansion. I think the package was conquests, the last one. That was where they first added in the oasis tile isn't it?

Get 9 cities total so you can get a catherdral from each religion in all 3 culture cities.

United Nations vote for Justinian I or Kublai as secretary comes around. Now why would we want to vote for either of these guys? Let the AI do the voting, since it’s really that stupid.

Actually voting for kublai would give him +2 with you meaning you prolly didn't need to play with his civics...
