Question about meeting people you know from the internet

I think I have met over 20 people now, that I know from CFC. All more or less as expected.

The chance of running into a serial killer seems to be bigger when crossing a street!

Met several people from the Internet several times, and in fact many I can call them "good friend". I do about 2 or 3 trips to Paris each year just to see them, in fact.

The ovewhelming majority of people from Internet are just like they seem to be online. Because people who attend meeting, are usually the one who are interested in meeting persons, and not acting. They are usually the ones who don't even try to pretend they aren't what they are.
People who invent their online characters, don't go in a place where their lies will be exposed. Someone who lie is more interested in what others thinks about him than in others. You meet people because you're interested in them :)

But, just for the record, I did encountered two clinical sociopaths and several very pretty girls ^^
But I already knew what they were before encountering them ^^

if you provide the finance, i can go over to Adelaide and stalk Simon for a bit. Although if he is the same as he posts, it's probably not a good idea :\ I'm sure he's a lovely bloke though.

Yeah, lovely... ;)

But the answer is no. :p

Just occurred to me that that would make ME the psycho, stalker type....

well, it fits :)

only time ive met someone from internet was one weekend,i was bored,so i registered in one of those dating places(my 1st and only time on one of those sites)
a few hours later i got a few messages from a girl that lived in the same city as me

an hour of so later of messaging each other,i called her on phone,we talked a short while and she told me to come over,i went there,we had sex, and i havent seen her or that site ever again (her appearance was somewhat disappointing, she wasnt fat but still didnt have a neck :))

true story

I meet/argue with far better religionists online that in real life!

We will meet MCdread!

Well, I haven't met anyone in real life that I've chatted with on message boards specifically, but I started chatting on AOL chatrooms in 1992 and in '94 married a nice lady that I'd initially met in a chatroom, we divorced two years ago, and now my fiance is also someone that I originally met in a chatroom. Neither of them are ax-murderers, and come to think of it, neither am I. :p

Nice joke Igloo ;)

My experience has been that people who hang out in fan places (CFC, band-sites, etc.) usually are honest about themselves. The ones who have misrepresented themselves the most are on singles/dating sites. Of course now that I'm married I wouldn't touch one of those with a ten foot pole!

I don't do such stuff. I don't believe in written communication. It tells me nothing important about a person. I can't tell if I would like somebody in real-life based on what he writes in an internet forum or email.

a friend of mine met a guy she knew from the net and found she had totally misjudged his character. I pressed her to go to hte police but as many young girls she was too afraid.

I hoep I meet him one day..........
