The forum structure and content are displayed by vBulletin; the forum itself is a community of people who, over the years, have grown fond of the the place and each other. Any competent person can build a complicated multi layered website. It takes other skills to fill it with people who visit regulary (and perhaps too much) to share and discuss things. When you ask:
How did Thunderfall and his staff make all this? Did he program it all? Did he use some type of software?
The software is the easy part of the equation. If you look closely at what goes on here 24/7/365 it is pretty astounding. Success is a fine balance between order and chaos. Going too far in either direction will bring destruction or at least wholesale change.
The fear of change to or loss of this community is what drove the "panic" over the merger April fool's prank. What TF has built is a place that people value and have made a part of their lives. The software is just a tool.
