None that I've ever noticed.

If you disband military units the military advisor will complain.
If you disband other units (scouts/settlers/workers) the domestic advisor will complain.

I just thought that maybe this would cause some happiness issues.

I take your word for this now.

;)

Disbanding units makes your advisors unhappy, but that's all (and who cares about them :)). Apart from the shield gain in the city and the savings in unit maintainance costs there is no effect. The only exception is where you disband captured workers from other civs, then the other civs will dislike you.

Does that dislike also happen if you make colonies or outposts out of foreign workers?

It happens whenever you do anything to get rid of them except adding them to one of your cities. The safest thing to do with captured workers is to keep them working. :whipped: IIRC even if you gift the captured workers back to the AI that you captured them from you take an attitude hit.

1) hello i'm new here! play this game (civilization 3 conquers) for a week now..
level chieftain. :)
The problem is that i can never build a spaceship... i think because i don't have resources like alumium.. but last time i had this resource but i still can't build a spaceship.. can anyone tell me why? and does anyone have tips to own lots of strategic resources?

Some things that could prevent a space ship launch.
1- no Apollo build
2- space ship victory not enabled
3- lack of stratrgic resources for the parts
4- required techs
5- game victory reach by someone

I've just finished playing my second GOTM.
I know that from the next one I'll be able to play only if I have PTW.
Do I have to buy a new game or can I find it somewhere on the CivFanSite?

Gotm is still offering games for PTW? Wow, anyway if you have either Complete or C3C, you already have PTW.

If not you will have to buy a copy of PTW or one of those packages.

@ vxma Yes. In fact GOTM only supports PTW, which I assume is what simone is talking about. As of this month, it will no longer support Vanilla.

@Simone you can get a copy of Complete for about $18 and C3C for maybe $12. Don't get PTW. As vxma says either of the above includes PTW. You will need a vanilla disk to install C3C while Complete is standalone.

Thank you both!:)

I have only the vanilla civ3, bought a year ago fot 10 pounds. I'll probabily buy the Complete.

Is civ4 any good or is better to keep playing civ3?
