I think he means the map scripts... :mischief:

Sorry, though, I've never played hemispheres, so I don't know.

Well I feel sheepish :sheep:
Short answer: Continents distributes them randomly, hemispheres arranges them so that there is a roughly even amount in the East and West

Sorry for my obvious stupidity :D

Why is it that when I catch a spy in my territory I will sometimes be able to discern whose spy it is and sometimes I won't. That is, "An Incan spy was caught" versus "A spy was caught."

As far as I can tell each and every time my own spy is caught in enemy territory the AI knows that it belonged to me. Is this accurate?

AFAIK catching the spy and identifying its source civ is random. Not sure if that holds for the AI too, they do get benefits we humans don't.

Sometimes you get a -1 diplo hit from an AI when your spy is caught and sometimes you don't. I assume this means that sometimes the AI doesn't know that your spy belonged to you.

What are the condition for the vote for Diplomatic victory to occur?

When I have the opportunity to make choices of actions because I am head of AP or UN the Diplo victory isn't always there!!! I wonder why?

For the AP, every existing civilization needs to have at least one city with the AP religion in it.

In addition, if you have enough votes to win diplo without any other civ voting for you, diplomatic victory is disabled.

Thanks! :D

The second one I knew but not the first one.

What about Civ's without any cities (but with units on the map)? I wonder if they stop the Diplo Victory... any clue?

Ah, the old RNG rears its head again. Beware, beware.

My impression was that I always got a diplo hit, but that could well be gloom and doom left over from the times the bad relations came back to haunt me.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't think that's possible except for partisans and barbarians. When the last city of a regular civ is taken they're gone unless you checked the box in custom games. If you checked for complete victory I'm not sure - never done it. In a regular game partisans and barbarians don't count.

Out of curiousity how do you open debug mode?

a bit off topic but... does anyone know of a random generator site that sends the randomnumbers by email?

No, but you could just ask someone here to do it for you.

Brennus doesn't plot war at pleased. Does that mean if I catch him in wheoohrn at cautious but get him to pleased before he declares war and he's still in wheoohrn that means he's going to dow on someone else or am I still in danger?

You are still in danger. Changing your relationship won't stop the DoW if you are his planned target. Increasing your power might delay it. Declaring war on him might make it easier to get out of the war with him since you might get some early war successes by stealing workers from him (and AI are willing to talk faster if you declare on them rather then the reverse). Of course declaring on him makes it more likely he will declare on you again later since the war declaration ruins your relationship.

hi guys I used to play civ 4 on win 7 but now I have updated to win 8 I installed civ 4 I tried compitablity settings it did not work but then I tried no cd crack and It worked properly just like win 7 now I've just updated to civ4 1.74 and it wont work...can u suggest something

Firstly welcome to the forum! secondly, your question seems a little unclear but I think what you're saying is that
A) Civ IV (no expansion) worked on Windows 7
B) When you switched to Windows 8 it told you it wasn't compatible and didn't work
C) you did something called no cd crack (is that a virtual image of the disk?) and that worked
D) It stopped working when you applied the patch 1.74
Just to clarify.

Once again, welcome to the forum!
