Is there any way to turn off the "100 turns left" to keep the game endlessly?
Custom Game -> Turn off Time Victory

This game is screwed, no way to change it in game that I know of. Although you can also choose to play after somebody wins.

Hi, fellow fans,

I've constructed AP but there are only two civs in it, myself included. Therefore, there isn't much to vote for other than the leader. Is there a way to get other civs to join in? (the game mentions something about uniting everyone under one religion, so perhaps that has something to do with it) Once we have several civs in it, is there a place for me to choose what resolutions to put forth, or must I have to use the ones they provide for me every few turns?

In order to take advantage of a marble source, I had to establish a city in the middle of a large desert. I can't build anything on it other than roads and a few cottages on the very very outskirt of the town. The city is stagnant with 3 citizens =[. How can I get this town to thrive?

Thanks =] and Merry late Christmas/Happy early 2009 =]

Other civs automatically join once they get at least one city with the AP religion in it.

As for your city, it needs food. Settle near rivers and most importantly food resources. Generally though, a city in the desert just isn't going to thrive very much.

I've been reading around the site and noted (probably in one of the ALC threads?) that there was a population rushing exploit with queuing two axemen then whipping. Essentially, two axemen could be whipped out together. Has this exploit been patched?

Hey folks,

Just recently started playing BtS and noticed that tanks now have collateral damage promotions. But, when I use them they don't do any collateral damage. Is this broken or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

EDIT: Never mind, found the answer:

Surely it would have been a simple thing to remove these as promotion options after disabling them in the patch.

Note to self: Must check out that Solver patch yokeymajig. :crazyeye:

No, the good ol' pop rush exploit is still there. The Axemen don't appear together exactly, just on successive turns.

You can't, as far as I can see. In this situation, build a city in a reasonable location nearby, if at all possible, and wait for its borders to expand to cover the resource. You can then either quarry the marble or build a fort on it (presumably home to some defenders). If it is a critical resource and you can't do this, then perhaps all you can do is build a city on top of the resource just build structures that fortify the city, like walls and castles, and expect that it will never prosper.

How do you rush something that's second in the queue? Or does rushing the first one a second time add enough production. I know about rushing one thing, then putting a different thing first in the queue and rushing that one -- I used it to whip away a lot of unhappy citizens in a conquered city that was about to starve somebody out anyway.

I've created a well stocked scenario using The Ancient Mediterranean Mod for basic Civ 4. The other expansions are cool, but this remains to me the richest most realistic ancient and medieval game experience there is. If you express an interest I will give you the full details. I hope to play it soon with my son online.

In the mean time; I was about to activate the 3.17 patch to BtS, and activate the RiseofMankind 2.51 and WoC Full-v1_20 mod packs, but apparently I need to update my basic Civ4 game, and the conflicting reviews make me think I may lose everything I've saved and have to reinstall the game. I went through that once with Civ4 and Warlords and eventually sorted it out, but I gave up trying to install the 2.13 patch for Warlords. Does anyone know if there is a way the Ancient Mediterranean Mod can be played with Warlords or Beyond the Sword ?

OK. I've browsed around more and found this SSE/WE strategy by Obsolete. Seems like something new. The thing is that his screen shots don't show anymore. Can anyone shed some light on what the gist of that strategy is? Also, I guess that the WE is wonder economy perhaps? What's SSE then, settled specialist economy?
