Heh, you're welcome. It appears I spend too much time at CFC training to become a better player, and not enough time on Civ4 practicing for it. :crazyeye:

Been there done that. I'm actually coming off a bit of a break from playing. Had to be done. So I figured I'd try something new... even though I've done Road to War before.

There's actually an "Open play" option that allows you to control the diplomacy as oppossed to following the actual history. It was super fun until the Soviets jumped me last night at 3:00 AM. :aargh: Whole new ball game now.

Anyway, look into it if you get the chance. I don't think you'll be sorry.

Cheers.

Hi everyone!

I have installed the Civilization IV Beyond the Sword up to 3.19. I want it to run in a window and I set it on the options but next time it starts with full-screen. How can I fix this?

Hi guys.
Ever since I got the complete edition of this game there is a thing bothering me.

Sometimes when I settle a new city the AI just gives it away to an other nation I have City flipping from culture turned off so I dont think that is the problem anybody have any idea's why this keeps happening?
Never had this problem before BTS.

*edit* This also happens to a new city that is close to my home city.

I have version 319 BTW

The advisor pops up asking you to give it away, feel free to ignore it and be careful you don't misclick. You can disable those stupid advisor popups in the options.

I would find the ini file. I think you can find the shortcut in my games>bts and there might be a shortcut to civ4 config then look for the line "play in fullscreen mode" and change the entry to 0 or ask.

I have a question about multi player: I am trying to play a game with a couple friends with different skill levels than mine. In single player, I am an emperor level player, one of my friends is a monarch level player, and one of my friends is a civ iv noob. How would we go about leveling the playing field?

There is not even any screen word in the CivilizationIV.ini. I tried to write in the CONFIG part "FullScreen = 0" but no change.

I just checked, my games > BTS civilizationIV.ini

this line appears:
Code:
; Specify whether to play in fullscreen mode 0/1/ask
FullScreen = 0
also, it's not a shortcut, its the proper file. If you can't find it, then I'm not sure...
I have the complete version, so just in case of any differences in directory try looking in the program files/appdata>roaming (depending on where its installed) 2k games etc
until you hit BTS folder, and there should be a shortcut called Civ4Config, which takes you to the ini file in the my games folder, possibly.

I have a spy. I want that spy to sit on an oil well and keep aways enemy saboteurs. So my question is this:

Does putting a spy to sleep, as opposed to clicking through each turn, lessen the odds of stopping an enemy spy?

This is actually in reference to a Road to War game I'm playing, so I'm not sure if there will be any rules variations. I asked here because the Road to War forum is empty for the most part and by doubling up I stand better odds of finding out.

Thanks in advance.

Just put him to sleep, and all should be fine.

When I've got oil my spies are hot ginger wimminz.
