Although vassals can still flip your cities, if they have enough culture.

That's a new one on me. I didn't think that was possible.

Really, had no clue on that one. When I stop and think about it though I normally don't take a vassal that is close enough to me to have anything close to a shared border. I either pummel them to take those cities nearby, or just completely crush them. Never saw much reason to keep them around unless they were going to provide me with something close to round about bonuses against my other neighbors. If I'm going to share things with that Vassal i've always wanted to make sure he's using it against someone besides me.

I just may have to take one close to me now to just see how that works.

Trebuchets have a substantially better chance of surviving if they attack a city. The +100% really makes a difference. Catapults just die when facing anything like Longbows or better.
That makes sense... my catapults do die an awful lot. Thanks! :goodjob:

Now you have me doubting my memory. I'm 99% sure I've had that happen - of course, we'd be talking peacevassals, unless you have "cultural flipping after capture" turned on.

I've definitely experienced captured cities revolting from the culture of my capitulated vassals... of course, they can't normally flip.

Can I have two versions of BTS installed on my PC at the same time ?
I want one with patch 3.13 to run mods compatable with it , and one with patch 3.19 to run mods compatable with it.
How would I set up to be able to choose which version I would run when starting new games ?

Any help would be appreciated , Thanks.

I think I have different versions installed for betterAI and Revolutions mod. I just patched the version already installed to the desired point, and reinstalled Civ4 in a new directory name...

Yeah, rename the directory and install it again.

But won't mods install in the same C:\Users\~~~\Documents\My Games\beyond the sword\
Will BTS ignore incompatible mods?

Hey, is here a way/mod to make the map seem like a real round planet when you zoom out?

I mean, so it doesn't look like some weird double sided parallel globe thing, but just like earth?

Is there a way to see what diffuculty I'm playing at in civ4 BtS 3.19? I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Thanks

Sounds like the F11 view to me... :p

Not really, if you zoom out, it just seems like a round planet, while it's just 2 identical maps on a half globe pasted together.

I think it's a very cheap way of making it seem like a real planet, especially when playing an earth map it looks dumb

So I need to rename the directory of the 3.13 version and then reinstall the 3.19 ?
Just BTS or the entire Civ 4 ?
Sorry , not that experienced at this stuff. Thanks

Been a while since I've dual-loaded, but that's essentially the idea. I think rather than renaming the directory you can just choose a different directory to install the 3.19 too. You'll have to pay attention to the install, and when it asks which directory you want it in, change the name there.

Nah it's easier to rename the current install directory and then reinstall to the default directory.

Can somebody help me to better understand some info on the Espionage Screen, please. Running a BtS game using BUG, as an example I have Sitting Bull to my north and Gilgamesh to the east.

In the case of SB I have a significant lead in EP, around 240 to his 100, yet the % is showing 109% on my line and 91% on his line. Why? I was under the impression that if I had the % on my line was over 100 I was going to pay MORE, why would that be the case, when I have a double digit lead?

When I look at Gilg. I only have a small lead, 92 to 84, and the % are 101 to 99 (me to him). These % numbers are showing up in the "bad #" color according to the BUG screens, I'm just not understanding how I'm in a "bad" position when I have a significan't lead? Thanks
