If you abandon a city with a small wonder (like the Forbidden palace) will you be able to build a new FP in another city?

I'm pretty sure you can rebuild the FP if abandoned, but I'm honestly not sure you can with other small wonders...

Good question.
What if you, for instance, abandon the city with Heroic Epic? Do you need to have another victorious army to rebuild it?

Easy enough to test - just take a late-game save, abandon all your cities with small wonders and see what is then available for build.

For your convenience I have done so and this was available in one of my cities (PTW 1.21f IIRC). So it looks like any small wonders can be rebuilt.

edit: clarification: all of these small wonders had been previously built

Here's a quick question: what sort of combat bonus does the AI get at higher difficulty levels? The losses I've taken in the last few turns of my current Monarch game simply can't be by chance (E. g. three regular medieval infantry beat two musketmen behind walls with longbowmen and a cannon backing them up and then killed a cavalry too).

Absoloutly none, it's calculated by a Random number generator. What you are experiencing is just bad luck...

The only AI-controlled units that get stronger at higher difficulties, are barbarians.

Well, even that's not true...

The barbarians stay the same, but it's you who gets a combat bonus against them at lower difficulty levels.

a question 4 u, how much shields does it REALLY take to build palace? it shows 100 in the ABC, but when you try to build in some cities it makes it like 300, so whats the real number, cuz i'm trying to prebuild Sun Tzu's and need to know if itz worth it

Edit: Seems I was wrong, follow Grille's link further down this page

I just watched as three of my cities fell- one of them on a hill, with walls, each of the rifleman units killed by a single longbowman unit. Plus two riflemen in a normal town killed by Conquistadores (Attack 3). This can't be possible, not every single time the computer attacks... maybe it's not so random?!

Some things I will put down to bad luck, like when a frigate destroyed a city's coastal fortress the turn after I spent a hundred gold rushing it. That made me laugh. Okay, what about support? How many extra troops can an AI Democracy support under monarchy difficulty?

Hey could anyone enlighten me on how the gold rush works, it seems to me that the price is about 4 gold / hield but it seems to change as the unit gets built what is the real ratio if there is one

The cost is 4 gold per shield. The reason this varies is because every turn, you become closer to building the unit/building, and thus the amount of shields left decreases.

No, it's definately completely random :p

1 for each city, and an extra four ontop of that total

w8, i just thought of something consider this you build a worker (10 shields) the price you pay for it is 80g if you dicide to her it, but if you w8 one turn you only pay 36(i think) why?

Things cost twice as much as they usually would (normal price = 40, initial turn price = 80) if you haven't got any shields in the box (production thingie). Once you've went through 1 turn of production, then it goes back to normal, hence it went down to 36 gold. you'll have a production of 1 shield per turn :)

This was implemented to stop people with lots of gold rushing a unit every turn...

kool thx again gainy, btw what it take for the status to change from chieftain to sming else

...but it doesn't stop people to rush a worker 'from scratch' (=80 gold) and then switch to an expensive building and rush that one much cheaper.:D

btw, Gainy I think the palace cost increments are not 10 shields per city.
;)

I'll edit a link later.

edit:
And here is the formula

OCN ('optimal city number') is map size dependent (so are the increments). I t's12, 14, 16, 24, 32 for map sizes tiny,..., huge.

I said it was implemented to stop people from doing that, I didn't say it worked ;)

As for the palace sheilds thing, someone posted a while back that it was 10. Although I followed that link, and it seems to have more credibility.
I blame Chieftess for my mistake :mischief:

btw what it take for the status to change from chieftain to sming else

Could you re-phrase please? I don't understand...

you know the thing that says status : chieftain or status : sir (yours) that thing what does it take for it to change, or would do you need to do?
