Quick Modding Questions Thread

I would like to increase the research costs for techs on an overall level. Eg. triple them. Is there a single modifier which allows to do that?

I have found Civ4TechInfos/iCost and Civ4HandicapInfo/iResearchPercent But with the first ones i had to set it for every single tech and the second one applies just for the human player.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Edit CIV4EraInfos then, applied for both AI and humans

Any idea why a new promotion looks weird?
It displays ok in civilopedia, displays ok on the unit info part in bottom left panel, but why is there that pink block crap?

we have 2 packs here and here.

Thanks, but the second one is for 3.13, thats why i asked cause thats the only one I saw. Do you think it will matter if im running with 3.19?
Links dead for second one

Thanks for linnk to second one though(:

There was a mod that made it so that a temporary terrain feature was created whenever there was a battle. Does anyone know what that mod was called?

(I'm trying to do something similar and I want to see if they did it with python or SDK)

If I add a category to say, Civ4UnitInfos.xml but that category exists in the Civ4UnitSchema.xml file, would I still need to change the sdk or can I address the change with Python?

How do you add symbols to the text infos?
I see different combinations of keyboard characters for different ones but the one I want places a colon : in a title in the civilopedia. It wouldn't let me use it, it just deleted everything after.
Also how do you add/remove civilopedia categories?(well mostly remove everything and add one more concept infos type category) I have the ability to compile BtS sdk if I have to and if the code changes are simple enough to alter it.

What I'm wanting to do.
Restructure the civilopedia like a PDA recovered from a character in my scifi mod.

second one, thanks :goodjob:

My great people buttons show up pink. I changed them so that they are now modern great people buttons, and they look fine except when you get it in game, the circle thing that points to the city is pink. There are no commas in there that shouldnt be as i know thats a common error. Ideas??

Which button do you exactly mean?
(screenshot maybe?)

The button that shows to everyone playing when a great person is born, its circular and points toward the city, i can play a little bit and show you it

also another quetsion, where is the settler cost defined? Is it not via xml? Because the cost is 100, when it says 0 in xml. When i change the 0 to 40, its 140 in game. Is it python or DLL that changes the cost as time goes on??
