I just had a quick question about playing with multiple rivals in Civilization III

I am playing as Rome against America, Greece, France, Babylon, Persia, Egypt, and English.

When i open the Foreign Advisor Window, it shows myself, Alexander (Greece), Cleopatra (Egypt), Xerxes (Persia), and Hammurabi (Babylon). It fails to show Joan d' Arc (France), and Lincoln (America). Is there any reason they dont show up?

There is plenty of room in my window for three more rivals to appear.

thanks (P.S. i have embassies in all other civ's capitals except persia, and they show up)

Also, is there any way to effectively increase the chance of creating a leader?

thanks ;P

You have to met them to have them in your F4 screen. So go out and find them or trade for cmmunications with them, if you have the tech and the other s have contact.

Build the HE if you can. Use eitle units to fight, preferably combat that thy can easily win.

i have met all the other civs already, i have a mutual protection pact with France and am at war with America, the two that arent on my screen (i have already defeated the english)

but to talk to them i have to move a unit to find one of their units so i can double click them and talk to their leaders,
so i have already met them, but they still dont show in F4 screen

Do talk use the D button on the right hand of the screen.

Take a screenshot of the F4 screen. Your problem is strange.

It may be a bug.

To get a leader build barracks so units have to have one less promo to be elite. Use you elites on easy targets so they don't die. Don't fight for leaders using units that have already generated a leader. (may be C3C only)

Can you just post a save and mention the version. Is it C3/PTW/C3C and is it patched to the final patch?

Probably a glitch or a bug. Just use the D button.

In a game I am playing with all 31 civs used, only few show up in the dip window. To get one of the missing civs onto the dip page, there is a small drop down menu in the upper left corner where you have to click on the civ you want and their face then replaces one of those on the dip page.

Doesn't sound like this is the problem, but just in case....

Only 8 can show at a time. You should have a button on the top left to change civ in the display, one at a time. Fun huh?

I'm guessing the dip page was designed for 8 civs and when they decided to add more civs, they didn't want to go back and redo that area of the game's programme.
The programming wasn't the hard part. They had neither the time nor the money to have the artists redo the screen. ;)

(It was supposed to be an eight-Civ game right up until just before release. Then the publisher said "make it 16"!)

This is a bug, I've seen it before. It can occur if you play a game with few rival, then load a game with more rivals. Click or right-click where the unseen leaderheads should be to fix it. Or right-click on one that you can see. I don't remember exactly, but it isn't hard to fix.
