Quick question

If I turn on the always war option, does that just mean that I am always at war with the AIs and they can have peace or is everyone always at war with everyone else? I hope that its just an all out brawl

I am pretty sure you are at war with all the AIs, but they're not necessarily at war with each other.

You're the only one at war at all times. As soon as you meet someone the computer takes over for you and says "You have declared war on XXX" Then they get mad, naturally. And you can never use diplomacy with them, as far as I know. My current game is a continents always war. I turned off the UN, cultural, time, and space victories. I'm in the middle of wrecking Gengis' middle ages. Toku is next, btw. Its a little more difficult on continents, since you've got to wait till Galleons to really bring the heat to the enemy. Should have thought of that when I setup the game...

Always War only means that you are always at war with all the AI. The AI are not necessarily at war with each other, and in fact since they are busy with you it is very unusual to see AI vs AI wars in Always War

Yup i was a bit disappointed when i found out the AI were not always at war with each other as well.
