Quick Questions and Answers

Sorted(I think so). I just didn't had any research done, therefore I couldn't construct any buildings.
If I'm getting something wrong, please correct me.

You start the game with only agriculture researched, so no, there will not be any buildings available from the start. If you start your game in one of the more advanced eras however, there will be some. Perhaps that's what you did the first game?

Anyway to bypass the Choose Archaeology selection? I ran out of museum space and need to create another. It only gives you the option of landmark, which isn't an option since it's on as island that will never be able to be worked.

Jrregan- no work around as far as I know. You virtually need to station a unit on it until you have a slot to fill or make the landmark (You can look on it as denying some beads to the AI if you want a positive).

Cicerosaurus, thanks. Always config my game to save every turn so i'll loose out less then an hour. But it's still annoying.

Rumor is that the control-enter to force end turn was removed? Is this true? Hope that's not true. Someone should have a career day talk with the boss if they took that lame and cheap way out.

Playing G+K -- what parts of a city are damaged by nukes? I know about damage to units, and I *think* that wonders of the world are not destroyed. What about culture-producing buildings? Are population killed?

Has the BNW fall patch's release date/month/etc. been released yet? I've been away from the forums for awhile and am curious to see what's going on with it.

I know pop is killed I think non capitals can even be wiped out I'm not sure about infrastructure.

It always makes me confused, so if you can clarify this for me please. When I've got a tile with a mine build on it with 3 production, great engineer comes there with an option to build manufactury(that according to the description gives me +3 production), do I have +6 production from this tile(+3 from the mine and +3 from manufactory) or do I have only +3 because mine will be destroyed in a process?
Edit: playing G+K if it's important.

You can read the +3:c5production: production in this case as "This change will cause this tile's yield to change by X amount." The mine is destroyed in the process. If you were to destroy a tile granting +1:c5production: production, the notice would read +5:c5production: production instead. Ultimately, after planting the GE on that tile and destroying the mine you will be left with +6:c5production: production (all of it coming from the manufactory).

There can only be one improvement per tile. Putting a manufactory on a mined tile will eliminate the mine, but you will still have the underlying tile yield. So, for example, if the mine was on a hill, the hill contributes 2 hammers and the mine contributes 1 hammer -- replacing the mine with a manufactory would, in that case, result in a tile yield of 5 hammers (2 from hill an 3 from manufactory).

For this reason it is generally advisable NOT to put manufactories on hills, since the yield from a mined hill eventually will be greater (e.g., with Chemistry). It is preferable to put manufactories (and most other great person tile improvements) on a tile that is at least food neutral (enough food to feed the citizen working the tile), such as non-riverside grasslands; even better is a 3-food tile, like cattle or grasslands wheat.

Another question, at CIV 5 GnK. I have a prophet but why it cannot found a religion. although my prophet pops out late in 10th century.

Check the World Religions tab under the Religion overview. Does it say whether any more religions can be founded?

got some weird issues with scientists. i bought 3, bur used 2 only. and reserved the the other one for later turn. but after few turns my scientist is gone. is this by design?

Can i gift a Scout to a CS to gain influence?

I thought I've done that in the (recent!) past (like when my scout got trapped I'd have given him to a CS), but in my current game it doesn't work (Scout doesn't even get the yellow highlighted border and clicking on him anyway makes the gift cursor go away and nothing happens).

No, you can't gift a scout (presumably they are, more or less, worthless to a CS). Can't recall whether that was different at some point in the past.

i think i have done it. But influence did not increase. The obvious benefit is less gold cost. since scout unit cost goes up as turn increases. after my scouts served their purpose in scouting the whole map, i just delete them or give to CS.

I played emperor, GNK btw

another really weird gnk emperor behaviour. it always purchase prophets even if i explicitly turn off automatic purchase. as a result i have 3 extra prophets which are costly in faith and i intend to use the faith to buy scientists later on. anybody knows how to stop this?

You need to enter Industrial Era to stop automatic Prophet generation. Or use the faith to buy a religious building if you selected such a belief or buy a Missionary before instead. That may prevent you from popping a Prophet before you enter Industrial Era and at least save you some hundred faith then.
