Quick Questions and Answers

Terrain have a few different set of colorings for different planet settings. IIRC arid/lush/fungus etc get different overall color themes.

Whoops. I meant the mini-map, in the top right corner. (Thanks for responding, though.)

Here's a pic from the Civilization Twitter (the one that shows Mandira) and one I found from a review (the one with Freeland), which looks like on my computer.

Although now, I realize that all the screenshots with the high-saturation green-land/blue-water mini-map are from the same game. So I'm guessing that was just an early build. Too bad, because that's actually way easier to see.

Oh. That's just because they gave the mini-map alpha transparency. If you mouseover to the mini-map, you'll see that you get the solid blue background back on the mini-map, otherwise the mini-map looks "tinted" by what part of the map you're looking at.

Does Kavitha's UA give her double speed outpost development? It says outposts acquire tiles twice as fast, and an outpost turns into a city after its acquired all its tiles... so does she get an outpost boost too, or is that a typo?

Hey, is there a way to see my "relationship" with the alien life (how angry they are with me), and other factions' relationship to the planet? I want to start giving some Pandoran justice with my New green soldiers

It works like any other unit you own. The flying units are awesome, 3 moves, any terrain, great for exploring. The ranged ones only move one tile and apparently cannot swim. Those are the only two I have received.

The infantry units (whichever of the two types) can't swim either. They are stuck on the land mass you get them.

What units are best for taking cities?

I tried using battle suits but they fail miserably

I thought they are strong units...

No, that's not quite it, although that does help a tiny bit. On the first mini-map, the non-settled land looks bright green and the water is bright blue. On the other, non-settled land is dark grey and water is lighter grey, possibly tinted but with very low saturation.

Yes, +100% growth for outposts.

I've inadvertently condensed my tech web view--it no longer shows any text unless I hover over the icons. Does anyone know how to undo this?

That happens when you zoom out. Roll your mouse wheel to zoom back in

Missile Rovers. It's enabled by the Computing tech, which also opens the Spy Agency and lets you start siphoning energy from other factions.

Quick question, does units leveling up (from combat, not their Affinity levels) actually do anything? Last night I had units leveling up several times and every time the only option I would get is "heal 50%" or "combat strength +10%". I took the combat strength one several times but the displayed numbers never went up, and next time that unit leveled, it was the same option again. Is this system broken or am I missing something?

The promotion tree is now quite simple : Moar health ? Moar strenght ? That's all for every level a unit get.

Does the Mind Flower change your relationship status with aliens? After completing it in my last game, all the aliens I had a green status with suddenly turned red and a "hostile aliens have appeared!" notification popped up on screen.
As a side note, I had refrained from attacking an alien all game.

As soon as a Mind Flower is built, all aliens over the world goes crazy ! They heard the sound of the MF and make them very upset. Once, I called back my entire army all around the world army to defend my Mind Flower ! I let aliens to flourish near my boundaries since the very first turn. Hopefully (or not), aliens don't gain power through the game and I won the biggest alien war ever.

Are there any special requirements for buying tiles?

I want to buy a titanium tile adjacent to my border but I can't choose that plot
