Quick Questions and Answers

where is the city list? where I can look at list on my cities and compare what they are making?

Click on the energy icon on the top bar. I can't remember if that shows what is being built, but it at least lists all the cities (and their production/culture/etc. output).

Is there a way to enable resources' icons to show onto the map so that we can see resources more easily?

On PC, Shift-R is the default key binding to toggle show resources on/off.

You can do it via the small menu near the minimap but the UI in BE is so bad I never use it. Hot keys are your friend.

F2 through F10, shift-r and shift-y

I just wish there was a toggle to access the build item gear icon, and trade route assign button. Hate moving my mouse from screen end to end to initiate those actions instead of simple hot key

One more thing though, how to kill the siege worm in the early game

There's early game, and there's early-early :)

I wouldn't research physics right off, better to get pioneering, ecology and chemistry done first, but when you get rangers with physics research, even as weak as the rangers are (first ranged unit) a small squad of 3 can whittle down a siege worm. Takes quite a few turns and depends if you can maneuver in terrain and miasma to hit with all 3 rangers each turn but basically even lowly rangers can take out a worm.

Even better is if the worm chases you and you can get a few city bombards in.

But best worm killers in early game is wait till you get gunners - even solo a gunner is pretty good worm killer but get 2-3 and can take out a siege worm pretty fast.

Modded games do not count for achievements etc. Only the DLC-type mods (i.e. those you have to install into the assets\DLC folder) work for achievements.

1. How does this work for save-game-compatible mods like "Colorful Tech Tree" or such?

2. Can I start & play a game with the mod, then reload without the mod one turn before victory and then get Steam credit for the victory?

3. What if I start without the mod, then play with the mod? Will any further save-games or game progress no longer earn Steam acheivements?

t.i.a.

they are still mod and therefore no achievements.

you can check from the main menu (the one that pops up pressing ESC) if there are mods listed. If there are, no achievements.
I am not completely sure that you get them if upon reloading a modded game no mods show up in the list.

Yes, but see above.

I have just joined this forum, so may be raising something that has already been covered. In the couple of weeks since buying Civ BE I have been irked by the short depth of field that makes things further away out of focus. Is there any way I can change this? I have been into options but can't find anything.

They're adding a UI option to turn off the "Depth of Field" effect in the next release.

In the meantime, if you can't wait, you can turn it off manually by editing the settings INI file.

How can I modify the terms of a trade deal offered by another faction? I have not been able to change the amount.

Same thing happens when I offer a trade. The game fills in the amount and I have not been able to change it.

What am I missing? Or is this a bug?

Try clicking right at the end of the number. The blinking cursor is tough to see cause it's like gray on black. Then use your backspace key to delete the number and type in what you want. Unfortunately, you can't just double-click and change the whole number.

I went and tried this. Played a game without mods up to late game, then loaded the game with a save-compatible mod, played a few turns, and saved the game. The I restarted CivBE, loaded the savegame without mods and played until victory. No achievement.

Thanks for the hint, but I still haven't been able to get it to work.

Keep trying. You get absolutely no visual clue that you're doing the right thing, but if you're able to backspace through numbers or type something, you've clicked the right spot.
