Quick Questions / Quick Answers

I don't really get why you just ally a city state, that has uranium or conquer a border City that has it.
There was no CS with Uranium, so this option was off the table. And conquering a city would have meant building a big navy. Not possible as well, as I had to defend my borders with my already small army

what exactly affect warscore? is there another buff for AI? like Mongolia started war against me immediatelly with +2. no units died, no civilian captured, litteraly nothing. then in process, they just pillaged me few tiles and killed one units, giving them +6? WTH

What is a Global Franchise? Some Office Bonuses suggest they'd be the Franchises created after your trade route ends. But others, such as Civilized Jewelers, would be too strong in that case, wouldn't they? I mean... 15% more great people, and +10% for every Franchise? You could easily get +200% more great people. Or are Global Franchises only Global Monopolies?

Also, I can't fully understand some social policies related to Corporations: Transnationalism (what's that Global Franchise maximum and how is it increased?), Nationalization (wouldn't Corporate Offices functioning as Franchises actually be a nerf to them? Specially if Foreign Franchises no longer benefit you...) and Syndicalism (again, what's the Global Franchise maximum?). I feel dumb, but I don't get it.

Franchises are created in the target city when an international trade route with an corporation office ends, no matter which corporation. The Civilized Jewelers bonus is as you stated, and it is right that it can give 100% + more Great Person points. But keep in mind that corporations usually come that late that this translates usually in only a few extra great people (estimated), it doesn't give you 100% more Great people, also because of the increasing cost for each GP of the same type (and after all, you need to invest quite some production in GP). So, corporations are strong, but not (generally) overpowered.

Global Franchise Maximum is the maximum number of Franchises your office can profit from (thus, the cap of Office bonuses). I'm not sure if franchises over the cap are not even created, or if they are created, but don't count for office bonuses. You can see your Global Franchise Maximum in the "Corporations" tab under the "Monopolies and Corporations " symbol ( a dollar sign, if I recall right) on the top of the screen. I don't know what influences this besides Transnationalism, but it usually seems around 12. My games are usually almost over when corporations come in, so I don't pay that much attention to it, but without particular focus, I seem to rarely hit the cap.

Nationalisation means that your offices also count as franchises (for their own bonus), so you don't need bothering creating franchises in foreign cities, but just build offices to profit from the bonuses. Of course, all office bonuses are retained.

Edit: The corporation screen where you see the Franchise limit etc. might look different if you are playing without EUI.

I don’t know the exact formula (info would be appreciated), but killing units, taking cities, and plundering trade routes increase warscore. Warscore also takes into account military and economic disparities independently of what occurs within the war itself. I’ve seen wars start with a warscore of 40+ before any fighting occurs, if one side is much stronger than the other.

Not sure if it's an error or not, so I'll ask here. Version 11-26. Turn 1, Shoshone. I move my settler to a hill with marble, and my pathfinder to the South, finding a ruin. Turn 2, I found on the marble, I get the ruin with the pathfinder, I chose to get another citizen. But I don't. Nothing happens. Is it working as intended? Maybe I can't chose that reward the same turn I have founded my capital?

Thanks!

Probably. You need to skip a turn after the capital's founding.

That is weird, I'd test if it works if you wait a turn

What is the benefit of meeting other civs? I remember there was some kind of tech benefit? Asking because was playing polynesia.

If they know a tech you don't, you get a small discount.

And you get to trade luxuries, and you are aware of warmongery things (can be good and bad)

Up to 30% maximum. A formula can be accounted as 30*(met/total alive civ).

So meeting a civ is better on smaller maps compared to larger maps.

'nother question. What is the +10% influence from trade missions for taking statecraft. What is a "trade mission".

When choosing inspiration, do I profit from foreign cities as well?
If not, is it wise to convert strong cultural civilizations at all?

The yields from per follower beliefs are granted to zur owner of the city with the religion, not to the founder or empire-wide. Other players can always profit from your follower beliefs when you spread to them, so it can be the right decision not to spread to them. That depends on if you want to reform or if you have beliefs that profit from foreign followers or similar. When having the choice, I would prefer to spread to weaker civs, but usually you can't choose much who is your neighbour and didn't found himself.

I have rising suspicion that venice makes for fairly poor nation in this mod for lack of ability to purchase things outright (100% of building is better than 25% of wonder; unit purchase cooldowns) and poor ranged navy which is your primary force as you're protecting trade routes and city states. Should I continue reading the guide for one reason or another?

Venice is very good. Just play it.

Any idea why I'm not able to spread my religion to a nearby CS with a missionary, although I have a quest for it?

To clarify: I moved my missionary both next to and in the CS. The spread button was not available

Is the CS an ally of Spain? Spain has a UA that prevents her ally CS from converting.

Question: What determines the price of tiles? Playing America and an annexed city's tiles are all around 230 gold while my capital is 90ish...
