Quick Questions / Quick Answers

That's a bit irritating..would prefer that bonuses were in raw food terms then rather than "growth", albeit with less large bonuses.
That's vanilla behaviour. Temple of Artemis was one a the few vanilla effect increasing food, everything else increased growth.

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question, but I noticed the movement circle (that is originally blue for 1 turn movements, yellow for movements that would be realized on turn 2, and gray for anything higher than that) is now completely gray, no matter how many tiles you pre-select for the unit to move. I was just wondering, is there anything I could change in the files to get the original colors for the movement circle? It's a very small thing, I know, but I am just curious.

Thank your for your time.

Hello! Today I installed Civ 5 and Vox Populi (through automatic installer), tried to load the game with mods but got some strange popups during game load - see a couple of examples attached.

Clicked OK several times (around 10 times or so) and got into the game - only to see that all the UI was gone.

Is this a known issue? Have I missed something during installation? Please :help:

Spoiler P.S. :
P.S. Found this in FAQ on the main page of the mod...
My Interface is messed up when I use Community Balance Overhaul and the Community Patch!
Are you using EUI? If so, did you follow the instructions in the EUI Compatibility files above? If not using EUI, clear your cache (delete all files in the Documents\My Games\Civilization 5\cache folder).
Looked "above", but didn't find any instructions :scared: Not sure if this is the same issue - I did play CBP/Vox Populi long ago, don't remember ever encountering a problem like this

No, I wasn't using EUI - it's a fresh copy of Windows and the game, first time I loaded it was with this mod already installed
Check that you meet all requirements:
- Upgrade CIV V to the lattest update. (look at steam options).
- Have all official DLCs (purchase full BNW pack).
- Install in English language.
- Don't subscribe to any Community Patch mod. Install it with the installer provided in this forum instead.

I think you still need EUI if you want to use VP-EUI config. VP provides only compatibility files, not entire EUI.

Actually, I think it does! The VP installer (when you choose EUI) installs EUI 1.28g with a few extra unused files (probably dating back to a previous implementation method).

i was actually asking about the stripped down community balance patch, im not sure why on earth i didnt specify that originally
Vox Populi is not savegame compatible. You need to start a new game after installation, with the VP mods selected from the mod menu.

I got the spirit of the desert pantheon (1 production, 1gold, 1 faith on desert resources). ASFAIK a hill has base yield of 2 production. So I would imagine that if my flat desert salt mine (hehe) yields 5 production, a non desert hill should give me 6 production, and a desert hill would give me 7 production. Obviously I am wrong according to this screen shot(it is actually 5,6,6). Can someone tell me what I got wrong?

Btw, Vox Populi is the most amazing mod I have ever seen(it feels more like expansion made from a team of passionate, dedicated ppl working full time on it)

edit: no fresh water involved, the grassland hill is next to a coastal tile.

Resources with an improvement on flat desert get 1:c5production:; this does not apply to flood plains. This enhancement was added in the latest version to make desert starts slightly less punishing.

Can you build villages on a road that connects one of your cities to a city-state and still gain the bonus production and gold for city connection? what about on a road that connects one of your cities to a city from a different civilization?
Do farms from adjacent civs/city-states count for adjacency bonuses?

Is it possible to fix the strategic view icon bug with so many faction/leader mods installed? If we can fix this then the whole community can have as many factions as they wish installed without breaking the strategic view.

Thanks, tu_79, but as I said before - I did play Vox Populi before, so I know the basics :) The game is installed in English, with all DLCs (double-checked). Mod is installed with the latest 07.02 automatic installer.
I have installed the game just a day ago, installed Vox Populi and only then loaded the game for the first time.

Doesn't the installer add EUI by default? That was the case before, and during installation it says (with EUI).

I did have some EUI problems in the past, but that was only related to switching from Multiplayer modpack. Then, deleting cookies/cache files helped... nothing like this happened before :(

EDIT: Reinstalled Vox Populi once again and everything magically started working. Not sure why, but it helped...
Anyway, thanks for support, Civ people :)

Do you guys know where I can find these instructions? Maybe that could solve my EUI problem :D
