Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Are you sure that you are going to the right site (with EUI, clicking on the quest symbol should center the camera there)? The quest should disappear when the site is already excavated. If the AI just finished excavating, wait a turn, then it should be gone with a notification "Site excavated by somebody else".

Pretty sure. Maybe there is a hidden antiquity site but I couldn't see it coz i dont unlock the Artistry tree.

Whats the point of leaving the jungle uncut? Even with logging camp + university seems the weakest of tiles. Am i missing something?

A lot of players like to clear-cut all the forest & jungles to make room for farms, villages, towns, etc. But there's definitely a niche for leaving those tiles intact if:
  • You're the Iroquois
  • Your religion includes Goddess of Renewal
  • Key defensive units on those tiles have the Woodsman promotion
  • You want a variety of tiles in case you need a specific resource later (like you occasionally want more science and work your jungles only in those circumstances)
  • Some mods also give various bonuses to jungles/forests
I like to keep a few non-river jungles & forests for the variety of workable resources. I find that my cities only work a small portion of their available tiles anyway, so why bother turning everything into endless farmland? Plus I might have a residual psychological aversion to cutting forests from Civ 3. In that game you could get +1 happiness per forest and I've had an illogical psychological barrier to cutting trees in every version of Civ ever since then :)

Hm, that's weird then. Post to github if you're sure that it doesn't point to another site. And I don't think city states give quests on sites you can't see.
That was also the case for me, when there were no antique sites left (maybe with exception of hidden)

Is there any reason for some of my archaeologists to not be able to start digging in some antiquity sites and hidden antoquity sites? Or is it a bug? The option doesn't appear and, if I left them automated, they don't move.

Yes, there is:
1) You don't have mutual open border. (You need open border in both direction to dig)
2) A worker/archaeologist is working on the tile.
3) The tile is a Great Person Improvement, or a Fort.

In any case, there should be a tooltip about that, so if there isn't it can be reported.

The first one seems to be the most likely option here, didn't know about that!

The second and the third one are more reasonable, and I think I'd have ended finding them out.

Two more questions:
1) Is there any reason for diplomatic options with other civs to not be available? My Open Borders agreement with Sweden just ended, and now... It's not that they don't want to make that agreement again. I just can't select that option. Or any other. They diplomacy options are all locked. Why?

2) Where can I make that report? Hm... Maybe in my last thread? xD

Sanctions?

Ok, one more (I'm on fire): if another civ is friendly with you and willing to open its borders, why would MY borders be "impossible!" to open for them, even for free? Have they been already here and they didn't like it or what?

They don't want your cultural influence to rise even more.

So the influence I generate is a two-way process? I thought that if they opened their borders to me, my influence would be bigger. But I didn't know that if I was the one who opened my borders to them the influence to them would increase even more. In that case, though, why don't they close their borders to me? Or is it a misunderstanding, and my influence only get bigger if I have my borders opened to them, and their borders don't matter? That seems... weird, at least from a thematic perspective.

If their borders are open to you, it improves their tourism, not yours. (It's the opposite of vanilla civ.) It makes sense thematically, as your people are free to visit the other civ and see how great things are there. It also makes sense gameplay wise, in vanilla there's no reason to ever give open borders and no downside to getting open borders with everyone else.

I’ve tried both! The scattered nature’s of the archipelago means you need sailing immediately to do anything, and the tiny island don’t leave room to expand a second or third city on the same plot of land.
I remember there being a certain map script that generated continents based on a chosen number.. is that not a thing anymore? For instance 6 civs with 6 continents, scaled of course for 2-3 hexes of water inbetweeen at least. Seems like a no brainer for epic continental warfare

How about small continents?

I'm not getting the Happiness/Culture bonus from Authority for garrisons in puppeted cities. Is this a bug or working as intended? It does seem like a check on runaway Authority civs, so I'm not sure.

You don't get happiness from puppets. All culture in puppets is nerfed to 20% so this bonus is negligible.

What determines in XML the promotions a unit receives. Like what makes a tank get land based promotions instead of air? and how would i assign a promotion line to a unit. (NOT FREE PROMOTIONS) but promotions earned?

Why am I getting more production towards Fair projects from my laborers with 4:c5production: each than using them to work tiles with 4:c5production: or even 5:c5production:? Is the tooltip from laborers wrong?
