The cultural yields from my trade routes got reduced, after I unlocked a social policy (and get closer to the trade route target in policy numbers).
I thought the yields are locked at the start of the trade route and didnt change anymore? Or is it different at this point?

    Poland or Ethiopia.
And the main change from your gameplay is: production and culture are far stronger. Food and science are far weaker.

Is there any diff between normal Vox with EUI and 43-Civ Vox with EUI. Does the latter simply allows 43 civs?

The 43-Civ version allow 43 civs, at the cost of allowing only 20 city states.

This might be a question deserving a separate discussion entirely, but I'll still ask - it's alway a case by case thing, but for the sake of the question, in a vacuum, is it better to use a great person's bonus or pop their unique tile/great work? I've read and been told that it's usually better to get the tiles early on and the bonuses the later you go, how true is that in VP?

It's also true in VP, starting about Industrial Era it's better to start popping instead of great works and great tiles. However it could be different if you go for Culture Victory, I'm not sure though. Exception would be Great General or Great Admiral, I pop them when I have them enough in battlefield anyway.

Each bulb of a GP is worth more when you have some improvements planted. Eg. Each manufactory makes the GE 20% more effective. Each GW makes Great Writers 4% more effective. Each Academy buffs the GS bulb etc.
So it depends how many GP you get, but you'll definitely want to plant some at least, especially early on.

Is there some some sort of a golden ratio for bulbs/tiles or a certain time point where once you get it you only do one or the other, or is it strictly case-by-case, civ-by-civ?

Not really. Even the first one of one kind can be bulbed if you know you will not work a lot of those specialist during the game (though that's rarely the case, it arrives).
The civ is not that much relevant. A more relevant question is "Did you took Tradition and/or Artistry, and how many cities do you have ?". Because the more you produce GP, and the less you have cities, the more you should create GPTI or Great Work.

Important note: the best position for a GPTI is usually on a ressource (if possible not yet improved) accessible by both your capital and a secondary city.
Because in mid-end game, you may not have enough citizens to work all your good tiles. And it is a waste if you capital has 5 GPTI and 5 ressources around but only work 3 GPTI and no ressource tiles (this only happen with Tradition, but you get the idea).

Interesting. I mostly try to spread the great people tiles around on [relative] low-yield areas so cities will have more stuff to work with. Never thought of it like that, but it is kind of like I'm wasting good tiles now that I'm thinking about it. I appreciate the answers, thanks.

I'm in a game with Austria that's gotten into the industrial era, and the game freezes (not responding in task master) when it tries to process the Hun's turn. I'm still getting use to the forums and such, where's the best place for me to start a post going into more details of the issue?

I just conquered a new city and experienced a maybe 30-some happiness swing. How is this possible?

Does the city have 30-some citizens? Each generate 1 unhappiness when you annex it before you build a courtroom.

No, it had maybe 15. I built a couple happiness-related buildings in other places in my empire and at some point suddenly it switched back from -33 to 6 happiness. I puppeted the original conquered city so it seems not related to that somehow.

You could be experiencing war weariness. Check unit supply tooltip to be sure.

I think I figured something out, I'm playing Assyria, and it seems that whenever I research a new technology or capture a city (same thing), I'm getting what used to be ~30 happiness swings, now it's up to 50. Is happiness tied to tech somehow?
