Quick Questions / Quick Answers

The only thing I can notice is that you have a clock in the top right of the menu bar; that's not part of vanilla, EUI, or Vox Populi that I know of. Was that from some other UI mod that installs as a DLC like EUI does?
If so, check the DLC folder (Drive where it's installed, probably C: > Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > Sid Meier's Civilization V > Assets > DLC)
UI_bc1 is EUI, you won't need to change that.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure where the option with the clock came from tbh. The only other mod that i had installed was 'InfoAddict' but i didn't use it on this installation. And there is a folder named 'UI_bc1' in the DLC folder yes. So that would mean, that EUI installed correctly? =/ Cause then i'm more stuck than i was before.

Edit : I have an option in my Civ interface options tab, where i can enable and disable the clock. Again, no clue where that came from?!

The clock mentioned in the posts above comes from the stock game. Not sure if it was added at some point but I have had that clock active in my game even when playing non-modded HOF games.

With VP how does one not be considered a warmonger? I never declare war but I do put the AIs in their place when they DoW me and take a few of their cities. Am I supposed to just kill off their units and not take any cities till they get tired of it and sue for peace? I do miss having a peaceful cold-war type of game (i.e. competing for tech/culture/city states without direct combat) It seems that in VP someone will always be at war with you staring in the Classical era.

Took me many restarts on difficulty 1 to figure out happiness balance and the like. Finally have a game where I am researching my last tech before Modern era (Celts are already in the Modern era but I've got the lead in # of techs). I'm starting to get swamped with wars. I'm sure I'll survive but at this point, I'll have to embrace the warmonger and start wiping out Civs completely (well, turn them into 'barbarians' as I've set it to complete kills rather than just cities)

I had the same question when I came over - basically, yes. It depends also on what other AIs are in the game and/or on your continent, warmonger AIs won't care too much. But yes, you have to think more about what cities are really worth capturing, and whether you can avoid it by settling more forward early on (thus preventing them forward settling you). It is possible to play a mostly peaceful game, although you probably can't completely avoid getting DoW'd on.

Also a question, I just installed the 43-civ version, but how do I set up the game to have 43 civs..?

Hey Guys!
After 3 fresh installations of VP to no avail i wanted to ask here if somebody could point me to what i am doing wrong.

I followed the instructions, installed VP via auto-installer (chossing to install VP + EUI) on a fresh Civ5 installation. Everything seems to be working right (UA's changed and whatnot) the only thing missing are a few tabs on the city screen. For the life of me i can't get behind i am missing the 'Happyness' tab in the city screen for example. (see screenshot) It is just not there. If i check videos on YT or screenshots on this forum, they all seem to have more tabs on their city screens. (inbefore they actually just appear later in the game -.- )

Thanks for your time. =)
It looks like an issue with a previous EUI install. You have to remove UI_bc1 manually (located where your binaries are), then clear cache or remove the cache folder (located in your user>games folder), then reinstall.
If it still does not work, try downloading the installer again.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried your suggestion - manually deleting 'UI_bc1' and the stuff inside my 'cache' folder located my user files and then re-installing VP. Still no change. I've also tried a fresh Civ5 installation => no avail. A re-download of the VP installer didn't fix anything either. =/
Is there any way to get the EUI files? In Gazebos originall VP post (with the VP downloader linked) he has a now dead link to just EUI. I was thinking about trying to manually 'install' that part, but i can't dl it anymore from that link. Any further suggestion, or do i have to learn to play without knowing why my happyness is in the dumpsters? >.<

@domeplsffs
Hmmm... why don't you try infixo's improved city view?
I'm not sure if it would work though, or if it is connected at all. I'm not good with modding or troubleshooting.

Oh my word! Thank you so very much!!! Installing that Mod finally fixed whatever went wrong with my EUI. <3

I wasn't looking for an improved City UI, but i suppose i take it, since now i see why my people hate my guts!

Edit : Nvm, now i am being shown the 'Happyness' tab in the city view, but i can't mouse over it, to get the details and see what is making the citicens unhappy. When mousing over the 'Happyness' part of the tab, it shows the tooltip for the one above it, 'Tourism'.

Where is the attached screenshot?

EDIT: Try to move your cursor a little lower? if that's the case then, you might've alt-tabbed the game while loading, or there is something wrong with your resolution.

Sorry, browser messed up it seems. Here is the screenshot. And no, just fiddling with the position of the mouse didn't help. =/ I'll try to fiddle with the resolution, just in case it's helping.

Thank you for you time <3

Edit : Resolution doesn't seem to be the issue. =_=

So to this day I keep seeing "installer issues" with the game. I'll be honest, I have not had a single install issue since G went to the auto installer. So what is causing all of these terrible installations to occur?

Custom install folders, either from weird nonstandard steam folder setups or - gasp! - pirated content.

Poland's Ducal Stable gives horse in the city where it built.Does it mean that the horse appeared on the tile? If yes, the stable automatically gives +3 prod and gold to the city also then?

Also a question, I just installed the 43-civ version, but how do I set up the game to have 43 civs..?

Can someone help me understand how to set up the game to have 43 civs? I installed the VP 43-civ with EUI version, but I don't see a map size that allows that many...do I need a custom map? Or am I just missing something silly?

Most (all?) people who play the 43 civs version play on something called Yet Another Earth Map. Idk for sure myself, but that's probably what to look for.

I haven't played Poland yet, but I'd imagine it's like the Coal Refinery, and not what you describe: you get the strategic resource, but no yield change for the base tile.

You just get horses, the resource itself, no tile is changed.

Does these horses count regarding monopolies, ie is it easier getting horse monopoly as Poland with lots of stables?
I want to say no, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Wait, yes this should give you the monopoly actually. Other effects that grant extra horses can give it to you (Russia's UA or zealotry), so I assume Ducal Stable would too.
