If you attack with a melee unit, it increases the chance a unit will appear.Ok, shout "confirmation bias!" if you want, but why is it, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I'm about to eradicate a barbarian encampment, they spawn an extra unit? Is there a script to make them more likely to spawn units when being defeated?
Or, just, yaknow... confirmation bias?![]()

Actually, I think that I have read somewhere the chance to spawn a new unit increases if there is a civ unit standing next to the camp. Cannot remember when or where I read it or any details.
I don't think standing next to it does it, but attacking the camp absolutely increases the spawn rate. So your not crazy, its working as intended.

Somebody else may point you to where that file is located, but I do know that their production cost scales based on how big your empire already is. If you're trying to build them in cities experiencing unhappiness, then it will also inflate the cost heavily.Guys how can I lower cost of pioneer? Is there a file I can modify?

They aren't hidden.Religion beliefs of other religions hidden? I was going to go piety but I couldn’t tell if my neighbor had a pantheon I wanted. Also couldn’t tell if the tourism from religious buildings had been snagged.
For @Recursive, or anyone who knows, does the "civilian killer" diplomatic penalty decay over time? It seems to just stay at -20 for me. I found some details from searching but still don't understand how it works. Is it applied only after you reach a -50 penalty for capturing civilians with a single player, after which you are labeled a "civilian killer" by all and receive -20 with all players?
Iirc you naval ranged units were not able to attack if they are garrisoned in the city but naval melee was changed not so long ago .. not something i'm very fond of tbh. When I build a naval melee unit, why is it not able to attack enemy units from city? I have 2 coastal tiles which are occupied by enemies and my trireme is not able to attack them.
Stealing a worker or a settler applies negative diplo penalty around -20.What is civilian kill penalty?
I believe it is tied to map size. I've been playing recently with a similar setup on the new communitas, large map with 12 players (2 extra) vying for 6 religions. Is the number of religions tied to the standard number of player in a given map size or the actual number of players regardless of the map?
I tried playing a standard size map with 10 players (standard Pangea is just too big for 8 players) and no more than 5 religions could be founded.... Is this intended?
I find Pangea to be on average 1.25~1.5X the size of a same setup continents; i prefer adding more AIs when i play standard pangea to be at around 10 players ... I'm not a big fan of huge maps myself but if it follows that same pattern i think 20 civs would net a similar result of roughly 5-6 convenient city spots for every player or even more if you like settling cities with minimal distancing.I usually play huge Pangaea, but this time I tried a huge Continents. Usually I play with 16 civs on Pangaea and it leads to balanced situation where each civ can settle enough cities without going crazy. But this time I only got space for 4 cities and I have to place the cities tight. Is Continents that much smaller than Pangaea in terms of land or I just got unlucky ? What is the number of civs to achieve similar land per civ on Continents as huge Pangaea with 16 ?
You are saying Continents is smaller..yet you're recommending more civs than on Pangaea ? I'm lost here.I find Pangea to be on average 1.25~1.5X the size of a same setup continents; i prefer adding more AIs when i play standard pangea to be at around 10 players ...
