About nuclear attacks (nuclear missiles / atomic bombs), is there any special rules about using them that are not in civpedia (or that i missed?)? A search on the forums didn't help either...

In my current game, The dutch declare war to me during their turn, invade my territory. I reply with a fresh atomic bomb on their nearest city and a couple of other civs declare war on me for that. One is having a defensive pact so I get they can be triggered by someone using the atom againt an ally but also America (how ironic) is declaring war on me for that without any apparent diplomatic link to the Dutch. EDIT: Actually, reading the log, IT IS ME declaring war to them by using a nuclear weapon. america is not in a defensive pact with them... so how?

So what are the rules regarding using atomic bombs and nuclear attacks and where can I find them?

2) reckon units (special forces in this case) parachuting in hostile land losing health? Why? Because of air units in nearby city?

The most likely cause, there was an American unit in the blast area. This would auto trigger war.

I always save before nuking just in case.

Yeah I've learned my lesson. There was a mongol unit behind a mountain in the FoW and Mongols were allied to America...

Units do not consume iron. They use it as maintenance. If you lose a unit -which used iron- by any mean (death, upgrade, gift), you stop consuming that iron as maintenance. Same if you receive a unit needing any strategic.

Btw, that reminds me of my youth...

Units missing strategics are just unable to heal

Cities on rivers, lakes and oases can build baths, one of the best buildings IMO.

Some wonders need access to water too, and it is also a prerequisite for hydroelectric plants, later in the game.

There is sth else I do not understand about the units gifted to a CS: It seems those units lose promotions on upgrade.
The first picture (I have shown earlier); A higkly promoted Samurai with 4 CS pikesmen. Second picture: 2 pikesmen left, plus 3 tercios which all have equal promotions. None has specific promos like bushido etc. And there was no fighting meanwhile, the war has just been declared by their ally Greece. I'm puzzled...

On first picture 5 pikes, second 2+3, samurai probably was disbanded (over supply limit?).
