"The replacement of research agreements with tech exchange in optional, you can check on the advanced setup before starting a game."
=> that's what I'd been reading in logs before starting the game, and couldn't find while in game...

Military theory? => "Military Science" you mean...

anyway, It comes really late, what's the matter of map exchanging when nothing's left yet to know... !?
Though It would come way earlier... like in Civ IV... :undecide:
Right, guess I mixed it with scientific theory lol
Yeah I agree, you dont need such advanced tech to show maps to one another. It used to come way earlier on the original mod, but the VP version is like this. I guess its only useful on large or very large maps where even that late theres still a lot of stuff you havent revealed.

Or when you have had some tense relations with an empire for a very long time and a chunk of the map is behind their borders...

I don't mind it this way. The deal value for the AI gets more expensive the more tiles their map would reveal. Trading later in the game keeps the costs low.

I just started a game (Emperor) and was surprised to see that Kamehameha had at least two warriors plus a pathfinder on turn 3. Does anyone know what the starting unti bonuses are on E/I/D?

Just has to be adjacent to your cities.

Hello,

I started a game in King with ten A.I. Everything seemed fine and the game was thrilling. But I just discovered an A.I with 50K gold (all others AI and me have approx. 300g), and he has twice the technologies of anyone (approx 20, he is a 41). Is that a known bug or something normal ?

For info, I installed Vox Populis as a DLC to be able to get achievement if that might be the source.

He is just a runaway, that happens sometimes when stars align. This AI might have randomly done several decisions that synergize greatly with how he settled, his own unique traits, his religion etc and at the same time he was not punished for doing that. In fact, back in time when i was playing Emperor i was learning strategies from AI cause from time to time i really felt like he undestands more than i do

Usually AI spend their gold on useful things. Having that much gold it's either that they got it very recently (instant yield from a religious belief, for example, or a diplomatic trade), or that their AI is forgetting to spend the gold on anything, which could be a bug.

Yeah unlike us we tend to watch our treasury rises rather than be the Keynesian AI that spends to simulate their strong empires.

Brazil getting its 10th golden age? :) Or maybe they've reached the level of runawayness where there's nothing left to build!

Inflation, man. First you're spending gold to put up walls faster, and next thing you know, it's bread lines and gulags.

How are beakers / hammers / notes calculated when I bulb a Great Scientist / Engineer / Writer? I remember reading that it was based on how many of their tile improvements had been placed / great works? Thanks!

I remember seeing it in-game. Probably when faith-buying them, on the EUI tooltip.

Marbozir actually just finished a VP game couple days ago. It is not to be the latest play through you might expect, but he will launch another vp game (as he claimed in his channel) very soon. The latest version of VP is expected to be used for another let's play series.

If a civ has his religion wiped out (holy city conquered + inquisitor), is that religion "slot" gone or does the option to found a religion reappear?

As long as the player is still alive, and he is able to spawn a great prophet, said prophet will spread the religion the player founded, even without a holy city. Beware that missionaries, unlike prophets, spread the major religion in the city they are produced.
