Quick Questions / Quick Answers

So I just started a game and I've found a very strange bug:

AI players are suddenly getting +150 food, gold, science, and hammers in their cities."from religion", according to the tooltip when I used IGE to swap seats with them an examined their cities. These are all players that have founded pantheons recently. Since its the first turns of a marathon game, this is completely game-breaking, allowing the AI to advance eras and put out multiple wonders per turn.

Has anyone else encountered a bug like this before?
Some other people reported bugs of that kind (one civ start building one wonder per turn and discovering one tech per turn)
However, we didn't managed to reproduced it, so it was not fixed.
If you have time, post the save one Github (https://github.com/LoneGazebo/Community-Patch-DLL/issues)

I already overwrote the save, sorry. I've been restarting the game after tweaking my active mod list to figure out the exact cause. Didn't think to keep it, though I'll do so if I have it happen again.

It seems almost certain to be triggered by founding a pantheon. I witnessed this bug happen twice in one game, and both the nations were the only ones (besides myself) to found a pantheon so far. Plus the tooltip description reading, "[bonus] from religion" supports that theory.

If it helps any, my mod list:
(1) Community Patch
(2) CB Overhaul
(3) City-State Diplomacy...
(4) C4DF - CPB
(5) More Luxuries - CBO Edition

All the above were downloaded yesterday, so assume most recent version. I also had other 3rd party mods installed, but they were mostly cosmetic or superficial for the most part:

- City limits (lets you see city working radius)
- InfoAddict (graph-maker)
- Strange Religions (cosmetic mod)
- Buildings - Upgrade System (by BlouBlou). Just adds duplicates of existing buildings with higher bonuses and upkeep, so I don't think it's the cause.

I also had older/different mods installed, so it may also be a case of them causing conflicts. But I did unselect them and restart the game (though didn't delete any left over files) before starting my new CPB game that had the issues.

I don't know if this is the reason for your bug, but you are missing the 6th part of the Community Patch, one of these two depending whether you play with or without EUI:

(6a) Community Balance Overhaul - Compatibility Files (EUI)
or
(6b) Community Balance Overhaul - Compatibility Files (No-EUI)

If you used the auto-installer, it should be installed, but needs to be activated.

I created a relevant github issue post, but for those who are curious:

From my first round of tests, the issue seems to be caused by "God of All Creation" pantheon, normally +1 to food, hammers, gold, and science based on pantheons activated. I suspect it's an issue with the yield multipliers (game speed, map size) and someone putting a typo in them.

You are supposed to get faith-heavy pantheon that benefits you start more, build shrines first in every city and invest into them

I restarted with god of war and attacked my neighbour ethiopia, delaying his religion. I found last religion at turn 89.

My "Corporations & Monopolies" window is stuck open.

The close window button doesn't work. Opening the escape menu or other windows doesn't work. Restarting the entire game doesn't work. Even loading older saves before the window was stuck open doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Mod conflict or bad install.
(This is exactly what happens when you try to combine Vox Populi with another DLL mod)

Make sure you don't have any other mod installed (for example a modpack), reinstall VP and try without any other mod.

Well here you are. Its kinda normal to be last to sound on high difficulties. Though i do not thing that God of War is that much faith heavy, it seems very situational for me, worth taking with right civ only.

The Apostolic Traditions founder belief says,

"When you spread religions to cities other than your holy city..."

Does this mean you get the bonus every time you use a missionary/prophet on a city? Or only when actually converting a city? (And is it only the first conversion?)

it is working as stated. always when you spread, you get the yields. most easy ,,yields for spreading'' belief ever.

anyway i have my own question. i don't remember last time i have played polynesia, maybe year ago. now i can build moai even on resources. will that remove resource, or do it actually improve it?

Neither. The resource remains but is unconnected; you can always build the connecting improvement later if you need the resource (though if the resource is tied to a feature, like deer on forest, all bets are off; I want to say the resource is removed along with the feature but that's just a guess off a vague memory).

You can chop a forest with deer, the deer will stay and you can still get extra food from it.

How do you steal great works? I keep getting "This empire has no great works or you have no room for them" messages. But they have works and I have room.

Do spies only steal works from the city they're assigned?
And I've noticed that "Thief" assignment gets replaced with "Spy" when choosing the capital as a target location... does this mean you can't steal great works from capitals, or is just different wording?

Yes.

That's correct, capitals are immune.

I should add, the works get stolen automatically. After your spy has been in the city long enough, a notification appears, saying your spy is ready for a heist. If you click it, it takes you to the spy window, where you can go to the city window and see the great works the spy might steal. For a long time, I thought the mod was asking me which great work should be stolen, but you have no influence over that. Leave the spy for 1 more turn and it will steal a random great work.

CS technology mission. I achieved 5 techs lead.

One turn later, the Huns somehow snatched my mission and influences.

Did I missed something here or should I report this as a bug?

You were probably tied with the Huns on 5 techs, and they researched a 6th on the final turn.

The mid-quest progress reports are particularly misleading for culture and faith quests, as the totals shown include your culture and faith for the current turn, but not for the AIs who haven't had their turns yet. For example, let's say there is a new culture quest and you are generating 30 culture/turn and the culture-leading AI is generating 40. It will say you are in the lead until 4 turns later, when it will say the leader has 160 culture and you have 150.

What does the “we are trade partners” diplomatic modifier mean, and how do I obtain/increase it? Does it increase if I give them more stuff? How much do I need to give them to max it out?

i think each GPT above ,,acceptable'' deal increases it about 1. But i don't get why i get imediatelly maximum of it( 35) with a civ, with which i have made ceasefire. no matter of deal values.

That is the reason, why i think that a gifts shoul have their own modifier, because, its maximum is easily reached even without it, than you are helpingthem for free, or for not to get dissapointed one.

Yes, it's pointless to give your girlfriend any gift after she's fallen in love. The marriage phase...
