Just adding more findings as I go through mid-late eras: missile lab building in atomic era should speed up production of missiles according to the pedia. Tooltip does not indicate anything other than +25 flammability.

How do you trade money after discovering currency? I see no option to sell my own, nor an option to buy any in the trade screen.

Are you first in Currency ? The other guy also needs Currency tech...

Yes, I had thought only one party needed the tech. Does this also apply to tech trading with alphabet? I could have sworn only one civ needed the tech, but I guess that is vanilla BTS.

Not sure if it's possible in the Civ 4 UI, but it would be nice if the civics tab showed what the actual changes would be similar to what buildings show. Example: switching from civic A to civic B my commerce goes down by 2% but research goes up 3% and trade routes give an extra 1%. I'd like to know what the end result on my research is.

I am on 40.1 (1900 turns in!), with (apparently unfortunately, if I read a previous post by Thunderbird aright) Realisitc Corporations on. I have for a while theorhetically been eligable to found a corporation, but there has been no option to so. I currently have "closed borders" which in theory means that no outside corporations can form (and my nearest rivials are... Embarrassingly far behind...!) Nothing has auto-founded.

"No auto-founding of Corporations" is not currently ticked.

It is not clear, then, what is going on. If I read (about one old thread and the blurb on moddb?) right, with Realisitic Corperations on, you can't form them with great people. (It also say "No Executives or units that can spread corporations can be trained, except when using a civic that blocks foreign corporations." As an experiment, I plomped in an exec using the worldbuilder. Wasn't able to do anything.)

I am correct, then, is postulating that no corporations can be formed at all, because I (the only nation that qualifies) disallows them by civic (as closed borders says foreign corperations have no effect).

Would ticking on "No auto-founding of Corporations" override Realistic Corporations and get me out of this situation (edit: tried, with that ticked and a rgeat merchant - no joy), or am I basically likely destined to not have any corporations at all?

(As at this rate, I'll have cultured-fliped the globe before they daft muppets ever get to that stage...!)

One of the criteria for corporations to spawn is the ability to spawn in multiple different civs, so this is the reason why you're not seeing it in your game.

There's a good chance you can toggle the option via worldbuilder though, even in an existing game; I think the button is near the top left of the worldbuilder options? You may have to mess around a bit to find it, but should be pretty straightforward.

This may be set in global define, I'll search for it, and change it to 1, so it always spawn when single civ has requirements.

EDIT: Its now changed in Github, so single civ meeting requirements will be enough to autofound corporations.
Also it will try to do so every turn.

Aaah. Right. That'd do it!

Well, frag me. You CAN get at those settings in the World Builder without having to do, like, a save-as-scenario. (I could have saved myself a restart early on when I forgot to flag random seed on reload after all!) Dunno how I missed it the first time. That's well worth knowing!

Right, well, next job it toggle that then and see what happens.

AHA. Yep. That works. Checked on an earlier save (as I had some great people squirrelled away) and yes, that would, indeed, allow me to found corporations with great people.

Excellent!

Thanks.

('Course I used all said spare great people up 25-odd turns ago at the point I started to wonder why corps weren't showing up, but it'll give me something to do later on...!)

If it's helped the mod in general, it was worth bringing up...!

Did you adjust this stuff for yourself?
I just edited the map to be the single civ there, and then used One City Challenge to see how that works (it isn't 100% fixed, like I said previously).
No changes to the game files made, so that was all yours.

Currently on latest SVN:

1) Is there a way to hide the religions formed in a city while viewing the main screen? I'm in the Atomic Era and it is very cluttered having religions, access to power, available airport, etc all visible at once.

2) Some leaders have the remark "this war is going badly for us" -x on the diplomacy screen. I am not in war with them nor have I been at war with them. Also I never negotiated that they go to war on my behalf. What causes this? This variable has been around quite literally since the dawn of time

3) On the topic of auto founding of corporations, what is required for a corporation to get auto-founded? For example I have had all the technologies, buildings, and resources for Mining Inc. and it wasn't until 100 years or so later after the requirements were met that it auto-founded

Two civs needed to met requirements, I changed it to one.

This change isn't in svn yet lol

You've probably defeated a number of their Hidden Nationality units. The bug is a matter of some leaders never forgetting certain diplomatic effects. We've known about this one for years but no-one has been willing to fix the MANY leader XMLs we have yet. It's a tedious thing.

Is there a way, short of parking a ship on every single tile, of preventing barbarian ships from pillaging your tunnels?

Have you tried putting ships on sea patrol, I use that feature to protect my sea resources?

This was happening to me, what, a month ago or so.
Nothing to do with recent SVN changes, lol.
So if you say that you changed it only recently, it happens to have worked for me even beforehand, don't know why and how, and don't care much either.
