Quot Capita

I'd like to use the resources you have in Quot Capita. I took the module Resources and tried using that but i was getting pink squares for graphics. So i took the Res file from Quote Capita too. But im still getting pink resources, a critical error on world builder and the sevopedia is slightly messed up.

I've tried making my own .tga file with the resource pictures from Quot Capita font tga file but it gave critical error on load up. Last few hours i have been moving different files about and making slight changes to files to get this working, but im not making progress.

So its not as simple as taking the Resource module and Res file. What else am i missing? Please could you advise what i need to do to make this work correctly?

Really loving this Modpack. It seems to have the best combination of goodies for me. I am having some issues however. I am at work at the moment so I cannot give precise details, however I will do so when I get home.

When the game loads, there are about 5 .ini files that seem to fail to initialize. The game seems to run fine aside from some errors with variables (Sometimes you get event dialogue where it says "so and so is upset with T marriage", and I assume T is a variable.

The big problem is I seem to be missing some techs on the Tree. I cannot seem to get Combustion, and I need it to mine for Oil. This creates a big issue moving into the Industrial and Modern ages
 
@Tirse: I too am not really satisfied with those roads, I'll see what I can do (actually it was I who retextured the modern asphalt road as I didn't like that one either)

@Uncle Anton: Mobile Arty - should be able to range bombard, I'll check it. Final Frontier sounds? Seems like something is messed up. Did you try to reinstall and to clear the Custom Assets?

@Bahmo: Please note that Mastery Victory changes the victory conditions.

@Voltage: the res tga file(s) is a very nasty beast indeed! You need to know how to edit alpha channels and such, I too had some very ugly errors that could not resolve and had to start over.

@PatriciaCross: ini files error? Please try to reinstall QC and also clear the Custom Assets folder, and report back if that helped...

Hm, ill take your word for it. I'll leave the tga file. But if i take your res file inside quot capita and the resource module and put it inside my Varietas Delectat folder i get blank entries inside civilopedia, incorrect image icons displayed and pink squares for resource images. Can you point me in the direction of what i need to do to get correct images and resources working correctly please?
 
No more .ini errors. Still get the error where it uses the letter T instead of an actual name sometimes. Have not playtested far enough to see if the issue with Combustion has been resolved. Overall the game played alot smoother last night. Thanks

The T is for Taoist. I got this error as well with the marriage event.
 
Hi, I've been away from the game for a while now. I just started playing QC 5.3 with some of the extra civs like Australia, Polynesia, Poland and Hungary. I have BTS 3.19 running, and still QC 5.3 crashes to desktop without fail when I try to launch a hotseat game with 2 humans on Team 1. It seems to crash even if I leave our set Civilizations to random, among other numerous option permutations. Anyone else get this?
 
Avain, will ranged bombard accuracy be adjusted in the next version? It misses most of the time for me and it not really worth using in the current state.
 
Quick update, I fixed my CTD for Hotseat (I think). I did it by clearing my custom assets folder. The only problem with this is that I was really enjoying using Chuggi's Improved Graphics set as a custom asset. Is there a safer way to use the awesomeness of Improved Graphics with Quot Capita? Thanks.

Good question, I'm using Blue Marble, but most importantly I have zero experience with Multiplayer/Hotseat, so I'm depending on you guys on this one.

I can recheck it. AFAIK I already upped the values since it seems that with greater range comes greater inaccuracy, too...

Seems like you have some path issues, please make sure you have the button and resource graphics at the place you are referencing to.

Hmmm. Can this be related to the RevDCM problem with complex events or is this a QC only bug...?
 
There's an error when I try to start the mod. It says "Mods/Quot Capita is an invalid mod directory, ignoring" when I click on the desktop icon. Can you help...?

Check the desktop shortcut, it should end with "mod=\Quot Capita", the direction of the slash is important.

Check your BeyondtheSword\Mods\Quot Capita folder. Does it look right? (is there a folder called Assets in there?)

Okay, I checked the properties and it says this:

"C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod=\Quot Capita

Check your BeyondtheSword\Mods\Quot Capita folder. Does it look right? (is there a folder called Assets in there?)

That must be it...it isn't even in there!
 
Why have Prime Timber when it is useless in the first place? I suggest you either remove it or make some building's that require that. For example, after researching Guilds or some other technologies, I be able to build furniture stores that help make my citizens happy. Not only that but if you make it an early important to build structures as well so that Prime Timber will no longer be useless.
