Quot Capita

Hello, I just tried downloading the mod today to play with a friend online. The second the game loads (Both in single player and multiplayer) I am constantly bombarded repeatedly with this message
"BugOptions - failed writing ini file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Quot Capita\UserSettings\Autolog.ini"
It kinda jitters my game up, lagging it slightly and is extremely annoying...I don't know how to get it to stop or really even what it is. This happens every single time I try to play the mod, is there any support that can help me find a way around this? Thanks for the help!

Hi,
you can either:
- turn off the autologging (there's should be a setting for it)
- enable writing to Autolog.ini

First can't work, but the second choice is working. You have to run the mod as administrator to do it.

All is well! It's like playing a new game! Can't thank you enough.

Some minor issues:

The razing problem can be circumvented by checking the "no razing" option. But I don't think the underlying problem can be solved by tweaking AI, because its also impossible to conquer cities in Word Builder Mode. It is possible however to change a cities nationality by changing its territory in World Builder.

The Manhattan Project doesn't work probably. You can just build it over and over in all your cities and its not necessary to build it at all.

The "no sci-fi" version still includes grav tubes and jump ways and the future city design. That's no biggie of course! Just mentioning it. And the future city design is actually very nice.

Thanks for reporting these!
Please check the v7.04 patch if the razing situation has been improved. I did some tests to verify and it seems that razings are down by 1/3 or sg like that, but I need you guys to report back if now it's ok or still needs fixings/tweaking.

When I try to use revDCM's changeplayer feature by pressing ctrl+alt+P or ctrl+alt+L, I don't get a popup to change a player!

Please help! It's fun to build up an empire and then switch to a recently spawned barb civ and take my empire down!

Thanks!

Attention! The change player function in RevDCM (ver. 2.722) is buggy and can even lead to CTDs. :nuke:

Looks quite amazing. I have some suggestions for some more mods to add into it: The Agriculture Mod, (Lets you plant some reasources)http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=361799
The Civics Mod (Adds some new civics) http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=362867
The Immigartion Mod (Lets you force some population to migrate) http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=365768
Tell me what you think

Hi,
thanks, hope you'll enjoy the mod playing.

About the suggestions:
The Agric. mod is poorly balanced as is now.
Civics: I'll probably add some civics in the future.
I had an eye on Immigration mods for some time now, will see how playable/enjoyable they are.

Thanks for the suggestions, looking forward to more feedback.

Agree about the agriculture mod.
Regarding the immigration mod: IMO the way Thomas SG implemented immigration in CCV (AFAIK similar to lemmy's approach, but improved) is better (less controllable, more dynamic - like revolutions).

"BugOptions.ini, failed write INI.file" all the time. :( where to turn this off? thanks and best regards!!

Hope you doing well Avain. You did a great job with this and VD and continue to do so. That bug error is annoying but I managed to fix it myself by moving the "autolog" foldier and the autolog.ini into the location where the other bug files are, I think it was "user settings".

hi all (=
i just finished my first game of the mod and i rly enjoyed it, 2 thumbs up!:goodjob:

i had only minor bugs like a missing picture of a great people, there was the file name in the name of the great person.
the other bug (dont know if it is one) was a ship on a hill. on a closer look it was an allied galleon in my fort.

can you remember the name of the missing great people picture?

I am noticing a problem since using the new patch. I can still upgrade units of infantry and ships, but it will not permit me to upgrade my tanks to newer models or my bombers from early bombers to newer ones.

NEVERMIND : After typing this and reloading the game, I can now upgrade. Don't know why that happened.

Guys&girls,

as a word of precaution: the next version will feature a Stone Age, but unfortunately that cannot be made modular. So if you hate this kind of change, just stick to this current version.

BTW, I'm also really excited about this change, it's turning out to be something really cool.

Isn't it a great feeling to work on something fun and interesting that you love? I very much look forward myself to what you have done.

I raise a toast to you. :)
