[R&F] R&F Cultural Styles Preview in Asset Editor?

Can someone summarize.... what exactly this leak tells us? (Besides the obvious "Scotland," which I'm... not wild about... there seems more urgent gaps to address.... but this is the game that gave us "Australia" so I suppose I should be thankful??)

Like, why does there seem to be a separate "Mughal" and "India" palace? (I doubt with Chandragupta they're (finally) adding a Mughal civ as well.) Why does what I assume is the "North American" palace have Egyptian hieroglyphs on it... or is it "Nubia"? Would the "South American" palace go to Brazil, even though their incarnation in-game is decidedly post-colonial, or does this point to a new South American indigenous civ?

My computer's too poor to run civ 6 on full graphics, and so I try not to look too closely at the poorly rendered art while I'm playing-- I'm not familiar, basically, with which of these are new, which are old, and which belong to which civs.

I honestly don't see why people want unique art for so many different civs. I admit I never notice. Even though I do run the game at full graphics, I never have the game zoomed in, except on rare occasions. I like to have a large overview of the world. I admit I miss a lot of the small art details of the game.

It’s great for immersion. Sometimes, you have to stop and smell the roses. :)

*Aarrgh* Stupid Santa Claus hats are still here!

RNA is North African which is Egypt currently and Sumeria (though that one is changing).
It looks like the Mapuche are incoming based on the video revealing the leader and the colors. Even though Brazil and Buenos Aires already had those palaces (I hope they are changing.)
Mughal palace was already used by India, Scythia, Arabia and Persia. RIND is used by both Indonesia and the Khmer.

RE does seem to stand for European. This was the palace style used for most of the European Civs (England, France, Germany, Norway, Russia, even Spain before they changed it to Mediterranean) back in the Civ6 vanilla.

So RBAL = Baltic???

I wonder if any of the palace styles for the old City-States will changed? Did anyone notice the palace style for Babylon or Antioch?

I think we saw Brussels having a Belfried type of palace (looking closer to the one in Bruges, just with a shorter tower). So I guess we'll see some more unique ones.

That's nice to hear! It's not an important aspect of the game, but I do like to pay attention to the Palace styles of the Civs/City-States.

If it’s not Scottish, it’s craaap!

I wonder how long it takes to build one of these models . . . seems like an awful lot of manhours to throw into something that's typically about the size of an eraser head on my monitor.

I sincerely appreciate the diversity in art for civ 6. It adds a lot to the game even if you don't explicitly notice it - the whole is greater than the parts.

Whether you explicitly realize it or not, the extraordinary cultural diversity visible on the map, from building styles to unit ethnicity, makes for an immensely more aesthetic experience than civ 5. I only wish they'd bring back region specific terrain art!

Either way bravo to the artists. It makes the game very enjoyable and I love taking the time to look through my cities.
