Random Civ-Rome-MONARCH

Barbs rabdom-Rome-continents-5 bil.-Monarch, and tada.
You can play first. WE'll use the same order.

Alright, azzaman, I cant stay awake. Sucks that we have different time zones. Im moving to Austrailia.

Night.

4000 BC - Not a great start loc, but ill make do. Move worker 1N and notice a river delta, so move settler 1 E.

3950 BC - Found Rome, and spot a deer just outside city radius. At least we have a fishy! Start building a warrior. Road a square just outside of the radius, for fast movement.

3900-3750 BC - Nothing

3700 BC - Rome Warrior -> warrior. Start checkin deer land.

3600 BC - Next city loc is decided.

3500 BC - Pop a hut for barbs.

3450 BC - Rome Warrior -> Settler. Lose 1 warrior to a barb. Warrior promoted to vet.

3000 BC - Nothing much hapened at all through that.

The Save!

Alright the roster.

azzaman333 (just played)
Mr David (up)
Conquer Dude (On Deck)

Pkay then lets take some time and discuss strategy here. WHat should we do from the starting position, and where is azzaman's settling spot?

unsolicited lurker advice: You might want to think about a tighter city placement than that. Stick with CxxC. Your cities will get founded faster and movement of troops between them will be much improved. You could try 1 NW of the worker, or directly where the worker is standing and then expand up towards the bonus grassland and the cow. I don't see any lux tiles or any other bonus food tiles that need to be grabbed right away. Just my opinion.

Oy... terrible land around us

Preturnset: :( The worker has wasted a lot of turns roading and chopping that forest square. Why is he chopping that? No shields for anyone. Stop him.
Progress on writing is slow... but inevitable. However, we have wasted tons of gold! We can run a 10% science for the same turns. We could have well over 200 gold by now.
We have one worker and a warrior. What have we been doing the whole 20 turns?

Enter...
IT- Settler>Curragh(scout)
1. Settler to city spot. Worker to BG on river.
2. Worker starts mining. Found the city Veii.
Veii>Curragh. Switch Rome to warrior
3. Nada
4. Pop a warrior. Looks like a lot of mountain to our south. Conscript heads to scout it out
5. Nada
IT- Rome: Warrior>Warrior
6. New warrior heads north to scout
IT- Veii: Curragh>Curragh
7. Still scouting...
8. Worker to BG
9. Worker begins road.
IT- Rome: Warrior>Settler
10. Nada

I left the warrior's turn left. You can probably scout north with it, or take a chance and pop that hut near rome. If it pops barbs, though, we're screwed.
The north warrior is three turns from popping a hut visible near the curragh.
Looks like terrible land to the south, so we better hurry up and fill our land.
All builds are subject to change. Maybe a little early for a settler in Rome.

Forgot to take screens...

Okay. One thing I need to make sure here so I dont screw the game.
On the patch that I got, 122 Full, do I have to write to my disc, or do I just dload it like I did and leave it in My Computer/C:?

I'll play my turns once I get a reply on this question, just want to be safe ya know.

1.azzaman333(On deck)
2.Mr David (just played)
3.Conquer Dude (UP)
4.Open
5.Open

Still more spaces open. :)

@Mr David-Barbs do nothing but take gold from the cities, and plus they are usually stupid enough to attack your unit. Barbs fall like a feather. Dont worry. ;)

You should save it onto your My Computer/.../Civ3Complete/Conquests/Saves file. Don't write on the disc :p

I assume you're running a Windows machine.

When you click on the save, a box should come up confirming whether you want to save or open or cancel the download. Click save. When the browse box comes up, go down the drop-list and click My Computer. If you downloaded Civ at its default position, click Program Files, then CivIIIComplete, then Conquests, then Saves. Save in there. Open Civ and it should be in the load game list.

Okay I might play tonight. Im gonna wait for a warrior to pop up in rome then pop the hut. Not worried though.

All right I've got it and decided to go ahead and play right now. ;)
So I know azzaman comes late (for me) so I'll show whats going on.
