I still the same problem. it says the wrong disc is inserted. NEED HELP!

Hmmm.... I had this happen once (It was right after I played MoO III, then I tried to play Civ III Conquests, but it wouldn't recognize my disc). What I ended up doing to get it to work was remove the Conquests CD, re-boot my computer, then once the computer was done starting up, I inserted the CD, and let it autorun (so that the menu that asks for what you want to do pops up) then hit play, and it worked.... I hope that works for you. I can't help that much unless I'm actually there, but Mississippi is one hell of a long drive from where I live....

ALso you might want to check to make sure that your conquests disc didn't somehow get scratched up really bad.

Mycomputer doesnt do autorun. But I could give it a try.

Maybe you could try starting it from the Cd (i.e. opening the CD from My Computer and running the autorun.exe)?

OH, IMPORTANT, build spearmen in the cities for defence, archers are not the best but, like anyone is gonna find us.

lurker's comment: Don't build spearmen. Ever. Build only attack-worthy units, and kill enemy units before they have a chance to attack your cities.

Maybe your registry got screwed up somehow... try Re-installing the game, then re-install the patch... You wouldn't happen to be runing WIndows 2K, would you?

Oh, yeah, Hikaro autorun isnt even on my computer. It just disappeared. Ive ttried clicking run and all.

Nope running XP laptop... but. Oh, and I already did that reinstalling.

We have our own island and Monarch AIs won't get Map making for a while so we don't need it.

Should we just switch all builds to warriors? Archers are just wasting time.

Okay I've still got this problem and it would be dandy if someone could tell me. This is it: How do I start up Conquests with the 122 patch? Because whenever I start it up normally it still says the wrong disc is inserted.

It should run just like normal... I don't know what is wrong with your patch or computer.... Perhaps you should go to the Tech support forum.

lurker's comment: Do you have Civ Complete, or did you purchase CivIII and then Conquests separately?

If you purchased them separately, be sure the Conquests disc is in the drive and, if you get the error message, try opening the drive and then shutting it and try again.

If you have Complete, be sure you have Disc #1 in the drawer. Yes, I know Conquests installed on the 3rd disc, but it takes #1 then to begin playing.

I originally bought them separately, but my discs became corrupted, so then I bought Complete, so I've dealt with both problems. Good luck!

gmaharriets post reminded me of something. I think complete is fully patched from the box. If you try and patch complete, it will stuff everything up. (i think)

I have bought them all seperatly, and the Cquests disc is in there, as a matter of fact, I have a shortcut to it on my desktop and I dont even have to use the disc, but its in there.
