If you're not flirting with a Darwin Award nomination, is it a life well lived?

When us pre millennials did our pursuing of Darwin awards we usually needed our hands free so we had to rely on someone else to document it. But, yeah, looking back those moments do become the highlights.

When I was a youngster I took this Pink Floyd lyric to heart:

"The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime."

I certainly didn't want to get to old age without any stories to tell. And here I am.

Rant: It's cold and rainy here. My weather on the start menu says it's partly sunny. It's lying.

Guess who overflowed the sink again?

EDIT: Somehow it's...my fault for not noticing in time. :dunno:

I'm still trying to figure out why everyone is suddenly saying "ok boomer."

Gen X?

Easy way to be dismissive of narrow-minded, antiquated views. It's not 100% specific to Baby Boomers, but there's a majority overlap.

I don't really like it as a legitimate tool because it poisons the well, but I can see its merits when you're dealing with someone mid-meltdown. The more amusing aspect is that it's most used against Boomers who call us snowflakes and weak-minded, but absolutely lose their minds at being tossed an "ok boomer."

LOL...so commenting about the lack of cell phones in my younger days is a "narrow minded antiquated view"? That's pretty weak, snowflake.

:mischief:

To be honest, I am yet to see anyone react to the "ok boomer" thing.

It's one of those ineffective lines that only a useless young punk could dream up. ;)

I'm a boomer. Ya'll got a problem with that? Talk to Tim; I've retired from making a fuss about most things. :)

You know, it's almost as though entire generations are made up of....individual people!
