This is of massively lower magnitude than the previous post, but I really despise the iPod's shuffle feature, because it seems to lump together the same artist way too often. I mean, hearing four songs out of 4 GB from the PotC soundtrack in a row on Shuffle All is really exasperating. Not that they're bad pieces or anything, it's just repetitive...

Daylight Savings Time really ought to last year-round though. Seriously, who goes to sleep at 5:30 PM? By making it dark an hour earlier, we're just making everyone burn the lights for an extra hour in the evening. If we're trying to be energy-efficient at all, we really ought to have DST all year round. Why do we need WWII to be happening for year-round DST?

I can't figure out how to upload photos from my camera to my computer. I have even done it before. I don't remember where the instructions are and the interface is counterintuitive.

If you have a connection by USB cable, most will download automatically by Win XP

I have a connection with a USB cable - but if they downloaded automatically (maybe that's what happened last time) I can't find them. And they are still all on my camera, they used to get deleted off it when they showed up on my computer.

Connect the cable and turn on the camera and put it in the mode to view pics on camera's lcd. With many cameras, that will trigger the wizard on SP that will download the pics. As you go through the menu, watch and make note of the folder that the pics are directed to.

If you have downloaded them and can't find them, use Windows find and set it to find files modified that day. That'll tell you where they are.

Yeah, except the iPod's 'shuffle' can be set to autofill multiple songs in a row by the same artist or to not do so, and in this case I had indicated that it should not bias its shuffle in that manner. So its failure to follow through is irksome at best.

Anybody know if the shuffle bit in Apple's iPods runs off of pseudorandom generators or if they do something cool like I hear Atari used to do, using noise as a hardware RNG?

My rant: Why is love always made to be something less because you're going out with that person? Why is it something romantic is considered being a "stalker"?
