As much as any human who is aware of his mortality, but, especially him, considering the order in which ELP bandmates died: first Emerson, then Lake, so, yes, I would be worried about Palmer.

I should admit that I find Palmer a bit of a, well third wheel in ELP, sandwiched between Emerson and Lake. He's no Bill Bruford, is what I mean. Does a good job, but nothing all that great.

Speaking of Bill Bruford, please don't die okay thanks leave him alone 2016 please

The unemployment agency wants to have my dismissal notice from my job. And it seems I threw it away :gripe:, because I thought it's enough that the end date is stated in my contract . Wrote an urgent email to HR if they could print it again, I need that stuff this week :wallbash:.

Asked (via whatsapp) my colleague out for dinner tomorow (yes, stupid idea, but I'm only employed til the end of the month, and I think we have some connection).
That was 1.5h ago, she has read it, but hasn't answered yet *sigh*.
EDIT: Yeah, answer was negative.

My groceries were not delivered again. At this point I can't recommend Amazon fresh to anyone and we've been discussing whether or not we're going to retain the service. Setting aside time to go grocery shopping is going to be painful but so is four missed deliveries that were not even communicated to us. I had to call and inquire to see what the order status was. This time the deliverers told Amazon that they delivered the food but it did not come.

Had a serious health scare last night regarding my grandmother. Given the distance between us, after a certain point all I could do was wait by the phone for an update and nervously cry. It was very stressful for me and unexpected. I am very close with my grandmother, I moved in with her after dropping out of high school and she really helped guide me to get my life on track. I owe a lot to her and the thought of losing her hurts me.

She is fine as of right now though, for which I am thankful.

on one hand, trapped in a pit with a song and an assignment to transcribe it
On the other hand actually got to write "lydian Fb" nonsarcastically, so that was pretty great

It's a modus scale with the note Fb as first note. The thing is, those black things on a piano? Those are the ones you usually use as b or # scales. Fb is lolzy because it's actually moving a white key to another white key. It's often useless.

EDIT: Ah, English terminology? Think it's F flat in English?

It's E normally in Danish too. That's why it was such a fun thing to write down.

It was for an assignment, mind you. I didn't write the music. (And sadly, the key turned out to be dorian Db, too. :( )

Fb and E natural are not necessarily the same thing though, right? I think I remember hearing a musicologist saying that once.

So they're either monumentally illiterate and have been delivering to the wrong address (and the recipients are too dishonest to turn down free food), or they're lying. Are there any real grocery stores anywhere near you that offer delivery service?

I'm reminded of the time when I had just decided to get internet service (back in 2004). The technician from Shaw (one of the universe's worst telecommunications companies) insisted that not only had he come to my home when asked, but he had rung the doorbell several times (and heard it), and knocked VERY LOUDLY for 10 minutes, and since nobody answered, he left.

I'd love to have seen the expression on the faces of the "customer service" agent when I informed him that the technician couldn't possibly have heard the doorbell ring because it wasn't a ringer, it was a buzzer... and that he couldn't possibly have knocked at all, let alone "loudly" because I was sitting not 10 feet from the door all day and would have heard. And nobody bothers knocking for 10 minutes.

Sheesh.

I'm not a musicologist, but I should think that for most practical purposes, they're the same. Anything you play in the key of F flat will sound like it's in the key of E major.

I don't remember if I ever ran into anything like this in my transcription exercises back when I was taking music theory for the Western Board exams. That's another of those "happened 30 years ago" things.

This is from 2012 but it just takes the breath away. Had to post it.

It's sad indeed, but all major conflict will have it's corresponding propagandawar (from both sides) running along with it.

Besides, that video shows just one of many reactions israeli soldiers have to protesting children.

Spoiler :

Sometimes there's like formalities that means it should be written as Fb rather than E, but they are the same tone

Nah, if you listen veeeeery closely, you'll hear there's a subtle difference.
