Random Rants LXVI: NO, **YOUR** THREAD TITLES SUCK!!

I don't have friends to play it with anymore, so what usually ends up happening is that I install it, play single player for a game or two, and then uninstall it with a sense of dissatisfaction.

Install and uninstall seems like too much work for playing a game or two. Is there some reason you can't just leave it installed? I only uninstall things I am fairly sure I will never play again.

Erk, a cold-sore seems to have popped up over night on my lower lip. Should clear in within a few days.

Hey, that's from the Welcome to Plastic Beach video! Love both song and album.

I just uninstalled Starcraft II because I ran out of harddrive space and that game is special. SSDs or Apple you gotta make some choices.

Only got 250 gigs to work with, and a lot of games are over 40 gig each. Between music, games, movies, and shows, I have to keep a revolving door so I can consume new content.

Rant: this <@#~½ing Xenforo software messes with my multiquotes!
So make something up. Do you think I always follow the storyline and dice rolls exactly when I adapt those gamebooks to novel form? I remember reading some of the stories in the Civ III forum that had me in stitches, because the author put such a humorous twist on them.
I hope you have read the adventures of Settler and Worker by WeaselOp/WildWeazel.

I reinstalled Rome: Total War but it's unplayable suddenly. It's like the game is running at 25% the speed it's supposed too. Frame rate is fine, but the speed is... off.

I have no idea why. It's been fine every other time I've played it on this laptop. I'm not sure if I care enough to go through the effort of trying to fix it, but nevertheless the fact that it's broken annoys me.

What has changed since the last time you played/installed it?

Does the problem mostly manifest on the campaign map? If so, this is quite a common problem on newer machines with this game. There's no fix for it, unfortunately, other than to use an old computer with out-dated drivers and operating system. The closest I can get is to play EBII for Medieval II.

I aged from 22 and 1 month to 22 and 7 months. And the Windows 10 updates that have taken place between then and now. That's really it.
See shadowplay's post above. Probably one of those updates is not backwards compatible. I have a special Windows XP partition for gaming, but I don't know if you can set one up yourself.
Oh, this is good!
I remember this from... god, that is a long time ago. I'm going to reread this.
Yeap, right after linking to it I decided to reread it from the beginning. I'm still not even halfway through.

*sigh* So story-wise it didn't actually get that far, due to Murphy's Law mucking up the artist/writer's computer, and far too much spamming in the thread.

I had a good laugh over the scene where they're swimming across the river and one of them asks if they can research Engineering next...

And "ROFL Mao" as the Chinese leader? :rotfl: :lmao:

Ah, OMTT, that was great.

Which brings me to a rant: It's great, but reading through the thread reminds me of how I acted here when I was 12, and that's not something I like thinking about much.

Probably the biggest reason why I don't frequent the Civ 3 section anymore. It's where Little Me nested, and that way lay dragons.
