I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT MODEL AND LOCATION THEY CHOSE!!

I really can't!! When they were about to build it right in the center, in the place that would have been the best BY SO FAR, they are building it in the outskirts of the city. Have you ever heard of a cathedral that's right near the exit from the city?

And the model... My God... they had such an amazing model and they chose this one over it. Can't believe what fantastic opportunity they passed with rejecting the gold-ish model.

As for my rant, I can already feel my nose starting to run. This is not going to be a pleasent holiday weekend.

Yeah, I was going to say, even the first one looks a far sight better than your average Roman Catholic cathedral, at least as far as the ones in the USA go.

As for my rant:

There's absolutely nothing to do at work today! As much as I like being able to visit CFC while at work, I really prefer to be busy and actually do something to earn my paycheck.

It does look more classical but it also looks out of proportion and uncreative. What they wanted with this model is probably to create a typical Romanian model, which is stupid because though we can have very beautiful buildings in this style, the second one is in most people's opinion simply better and nicer to look at.

I think you might be influenced by seeing its style for the first time. TBH it's very nice if you've never seen any structure in this style before.

Maybe, but if you build the biggest Cathedral in the world (in this denomination), you gotta do better than that, IMHO. Though I think it looks better than the current biggest one in the world (click), it's nothing compared to this beauty, from Sofia, Bulgaria:

There's three churches within a half-mile radius of each other that have the same architecture, layout, and colors (white and black). They're building a fourth one just down the street. So, something a little more awe-inspiring looks nicer to me. Still, it really comes down to the amount of exposure.

Although whoever built that first cathedral is clearly overcompensating for something...

Awe-inspiring is probably the only thing it will always have. Being 97 meters tall and almost 90 meters wide... it's going to be something. But I can't believe they aren't building it in the center. It's almost like it won't exist.

There is still hope though - the project is being debated for 127 years (yes I'm serious), and they changed the location 6 times only since 2001. So maybe, maybe...
