Um, which male? If you're talking about the father, then yes, he can choose to get his own foreskin removed at any time.

No, I absolutely agree that infant genital cutting of both genders for any reason (religious, social, cultural, except occasionally medical) is to be condemned in the strongest terms. (I doubt you actually want to argue about plastic surgery to repair serious birth defects.) I have agreed that they are both terrible.

That link is really not at all persuasive. But I have realized through this thread that I don't think this sort of comparison is productive.

Why isn't it? That table was made by someone who spent 16 years studying FGM in Africa, and to me the parallels are damning. Many people in this country still have this sexist idea that natural male genitals are disgusting, malodorous, and unsightly, just like the beliefs of many African/Asian societies regarding natural female genitals.

I say that although the procedures can be different, with some forms of FGM being far less extensive than MGM and some being far more extensive, the societal ignorance and doublethink are exactly the same.

Interesting how the pro-circs will sometimes try to denigrate anti-circs by saying they have an "unhealthy obsession" or a "penis fixation". I say the pro-circs are the ones with an unhealthy obsession that fixates on cutting infant penises so they can be more "hygienic" or more "visually appealing". Pretty weird, if you ask me.

There were swordfights, archery, Jewish jokes, dick jokes, Jewish dick jokes, general silliness, and quickly dated pop culture references. I got exactly what I wanted from a Robin Hood movie made by Mel Brooks.

Edit: I was like 12 or 13 when I last saw it and I had my sister to explain Home Alone and inflatable sneakers. I might be more critical watching it now.
