Que Music Change: Bum Chika WAA-WAA :D
Thank God it is Friday.

Preflight check: hmm, Hittites and Sumer look so familiar. Switch a couple of knight builds to MDI’s so we have more attackers next turn. Spend 16g shortrushing a temple in Seoul to get another Knight next turn as well.
Move Pike out of Pyongsong to Basra, leaving the town empty. Perhaps the Sumerian knights will go for it and get cut down in the process.

IBT: 2 knights die attacking us (1 in Basra, other in
Invention -> Guns
Seoul knight -> MDI; Pyongyang MDI -> MDI; Pusan MDI -> MDI; Basra treb -> treb; Pyongsong walls -> Lib

T1: 560AD Near Pyongyang: Knight Army kills Musket (9/9); MDI kills knight, promotes (4/5); knight kills knight (3/4); Knight Army kills knight (4/9)
Cats and Trebs ding units all around.

IBT: Hittites call; We get peace + Guns + 4g for 29gpt. Lots of money, but our research stinks (Chems in 35T)
Kill a Sumer Knight, lose a pike; Kill 2 red LB’s, but sword army is badly hurt.

T2: 570AD Load 3rd knight into knight Army; Near Inchon: 4/5 MDI kills archer (4/5)
Near Pyongyang: MDI dies vs 2/3 musket; 4/5 MDI kills it (4/5); Knight Army kills 4/4 Knight (5/13), must go back to town to heal
Near Ulsan: Bombard a bunch of stuff; then MDI army kills 2 Inca LB’s (8/13)

Switch Seoul to a market

IBT: Hyangseng lib -> rax; Ulsan treb -> treb
Indians, Persians building Magellans

T3: 580AD Bombard some more near Ulsan; Sword Army kills Inca Crusader and LB (11/14); MDI Army kills LB and spear; 4/5 MDI kills archer; MDI kills archer and promotes (4/5)
I have to bump up the lux slider for some reason (no indication of WW from unhappy faces), forcing us to min research Chem’s

IBT: Lose a pike near Pyongsong; kill an Arab LB there; Retreat 2 2/4 knights @ Basra with spear; Nampo pike -> pike

T4: 590AD Near Pyongsong: 4/5 MDI kills knight (4/5); Near Basra: Knight Army kills 2 redlined Sumer knights (13/13)
Near Ulsan: 4/5 MDI kills LB (3/5); Sword Army kills spear and musket (10/14); MDI Army kills LB and musket (2/13)
Crap, Arab musket will cutoff our silks next turn. Increase lux tax.

IBT: Lose a pike to a Sumer knight; Wonson MDI -> MDI; Pusan MDI -> MDI

Indians, Persians building Smith’s

T5: 600AD Near Pyongyang: MDI kills Sumer knight and promotes (4/5)
Near Ulsan: redline everything with trebs; elite spear kills archer (3/5)

IBT: Inca come calling: Trade TM’s plus get 13g. We could have gotten Chem’s but we’d be completely bankrupt

Inca building Smith’s

T6: 610AD Knight army heads out for a pillaging spree into Arab/Sumerian lands.

IBT: Sumerians offer Peace, Get the town of Der and 9g as well.

T7: 620AD Move into Arab territory

IBT: Cheju MDI -> MDI

T8: 630AD Knight army pillages around Mecca

T9: 640AD 3 elite MDI kills net nada.

IBT: Pyongyang knight -> market; Wonson MDI -> MDI
French building Newton’s and Smith’s; Inca building Bach’s

T10: 650AD Have a couple of riots but I don’t understand why, cities were fine before hitting space :hmm:
@ Khurasa: MDI army kills 2 Muskets (6/13); Knight army kills 2 Muskets (9/13); MDI kills nearby LB (1/4)

Inchon should build a harbor next as there’s a nearby chop that will be finished 1T after the Lib. I’ve started to cycle in some Markets as we really need more income. Otherwise, I think we've survived quite well :) At least we know that the Hittites are not likely to attack for another 11T

great turns, grahamiam, nice trading as well. This is the way to go here. Making gpt deals for techs is good in case the AI is so stupid to declare again.

Have a couple of riots but I don’t understand why, cities were fine before hitting space
Remember we are a republic, mose likely WW hit us...

I would say try and build up some infrastructure and hurt Arabs until we get a good peace deal, then we ultimately have to go after Persia.

670: Kill 2 arab longbows

680: India starts Newton's

710: Kill Arab Musket

IBT: India wants to talk, they want 60 gold for their territory map, we can't afford a tech even with the horses we have to trade, so it finishes up we give them WM for just 1 gold

720: Kill Arab bow

730: India starts Shakespeare's
Kill 3 muskets in Mecca, but have to back off as there's at least 2 more

740, 50: zzz

Now, if we can actually take out Mecca, that would be a major blow for the Arabs.
The game is starting to look better.

Roger that Greebley. This one is on the slate for tonight. Much Destruction to rain on the poor fools.

The wife got sick today, no playing tonight for me.

I know Greebley is up in a few games, so who is taking it? Romeo or Greebley?

Umm, I will not have time until Saturday evening.

IHT: Just looking.
Turn 1: Start libs and markets as main builds.
Turn 2: Hittites talk, but only to reup peace, no negotiation possible.
Turn 3: Romeo gets disgusted as knight army loses to musket. Bummer.

Turn 5: Arabs talked, but didn't want to cough up the good stuff, so War must continue.
Turn 6: Rl musket kills 2 knights.
Turn 7: Persia comes calling, and we trade silks and wines for 20 gold, gems and spices.
Turn 8: Kill 3 muskets and a longbow at Mecca. Play with sliders.
Turn 10: Couldn't bear to raze it.

Thoughts. We were not using trebs on offense. This cost us a knight army. We must use trebs on offense.
Our unit costs are 70 gpt, we need to bring them down a bit by getting more cities and some bigger cities.
Persia has steam. Starve Mecca down, and/or let it flip once or twice. I wanted the city so I could make the army, then fish against all the LB's around the area.
Greebley should be able to take/raze 3 Arab cities next turn.

since we refused to talk to the Arabs this time round, it will take many more turns until they will be willing to talk. Let's take them out then.

We are drowning in unit cost since we are a republic, mistake IMHO, but now that we are, let's try and get more towns and reduce the number of units. We could disband some obsolete units.

Preturn: For Republic, I like to go for Aquaducts before Markets. We get +2 unit support or +4 gold if our town is greater than size 7. Markets supply some happiness, and gold, but it is less than what we get with bigger size and that +4. I switch towns that are approaching max size to Aquaducts first.

We have a lot of Marsh to clear and only 5 native workers? I think I will build some more.

Disband 2 Cats.

Early:
Form the Knight Army.
Newton's University is finished.
Make a deal Wines for Incense with world maps on both sides and some extra gold on ours with France. We can now see most the world. Decided to grab the world map when I could (original deal offered was Incense for Wines alone).
I pillage Arabia's Saltpeter. We will have to reconnect it when we grab it ourselves.

Mid:
Bombard and Capture Medina. Attack Damascus.
A second attack on Demascus flubs as we lose 11 straight hp from our Army to finally retreat vs a Musket. We move our Army back to heal.

Late:
Bombard and Capture Bagdad.
Bombard and Capture Kufah.

Notes:
Arabia is almost destroyed. They have one more city - Damascus. This is the city with the Saltpeter.

We are 4 turns From Mil Trad. Once we get that I feel we should build up a force to go after Persia. Their cities are a treasure trove of Wonders including the GLib to catch up in tech.

Question: Can we declare war? The rules aren't quite clear on that. I would rather not declare war by attacking as that may destroy our ROP ability (not sure).
Question: Can we cancel an active deal?

Several civs are industrial. Rails exist for several civs.

Persia started Univ Sufferage. They own Shakespeares, Smiths, GLib, Magellaens.

The Temples and Granaries can be switched. Mostly I am waiting for the Saltpeter to build more units (cannon and Cavalry).

We could build the Pentagon.

Republic is starting to work for us. Unit costs are not oppressive. The extra +1 gold easily our unit costs now I am fairly sure. We may need more units for war with Persia though.

Capturing Damascus also gets us a new Lux (spices).

Some thoughts. There is enough territory in former Arabia to plant a few new cities. I would plant one on the RL MDI, and I would plant one on the workers stacked on the plains.
After MT, I would shut off research for ~ 10 turns so we can build a large enough force of Cavs and Cannons as well as Muskets to go get us the Glib.
Consider bilding the MilAcademy posthaste in our core, than maybe cashrushing an army for cavs?

we are silent and cannot cancel deals unless the other party dials us up.
Declaring wars done by attacking

agree on going after Persia, we need the GL to get back into the tech race. Their wonders would be very neat in our hands as well
