1170 AD: Ulaanbaatar razed for 13 gold (Mongol)

1180 AD: America is the one with gold so we auto-destroy los Angeles North of our border get a bit over 300.
Oops hit enter and ended the turn too early Zargosa was under attack and I planned to abandon.

IBT: Zargosa taken by America. We will get it back later for a profit...

1190 AD: Capture Cleveland for about 300 gold

1200 AD: Capture Dutch town of Enschede

1210 AD: Destroy a Mongol city to the West. Attack Russian and American cities.
Steam had dropped to 2 turns and can be gotten at 100% science. Since we need at least 20% Lux, I MM for scientists until it goes to 1 turn (sacrificing 2 extra food in a bunch of cities).

IBT: We have Coal but unconnected. Go for Electricity but at a slow rate. I don't think the game will be long enough to make it worthwhile to research.

1220 AD: Capture St Louis and Zargosa for more gold. Zargosa gives us Coal to start rails. I will still connect the other source.
Capture Buhen (Egyptian). Attack Tatu.

1230 AD: Abandon Buhen.
Capture Holward(dutch).

IBT: Lose a Cav.

1240 AD:
Capture Dutch Capitol Maastrickt and the Dutch are destroyed.

Capture Santiago.
Army went to 1 hp from about 13 doing 1 hp to a Rifle - it retreated.

Notes:
Tatu gave us another Lux. I had to leave it to defend the 1 hp Army so there is a possible risk of a fast unit taking it and causing unhappiness.

Situation is a bit chaotic. Some towns can be abandoned it pressed too hard.

I have been rushing units in key towns to help hold them.

I am sure we can wrap this game up very soon. Don't forget that we have an offshore Island. We can go for domination if we don't want to sail over
 
I was going to build a frigate, but the town didn't have a harbor so I switched to that. This is as far as I got to exploring the oceans.

I think domination would be fine for me for this game, but will agree to conquest if anyone else would prefer it.
 
Pre-turn- Not much.

IBT- some units approach. A lot of towns riot.

1. Capture Madrid. It has Bach's, and I lower lux to 10%.

IBT- At Enschede lone MDI cleanly kills musket. Lose Tatung to some yokels. Lose a random pike to a random mongol cav.

2. Raze Almarikh.

IBT- Almost nothing.

3. Capture Buto.

IBT- Nothing noteworthy.

4. Capture Bryansk. Raze Ta Tu. Capture Kabarovsk and our front is narrowed. In the far north I can barely hold our current capture cities
by using armies for defense. I cash rush a lot of settlers.

IBT- Egypts capture madrid and js bachs. I look away and hit enter as towns riot.

5. Madrid is recaptured. Phew. Tabriz is abandoned. Raze Mologda and Omsk.

5 turns now? I see Own only played 5. If I have time, I will play 10, if not just the 5. I am up in another SG today, maybe 2, so I may not be able to play this tonight, maybe tomorrow night. I will download the save and start ASAP. Meanwhile, any comments about strategy are welcome.
 
TheOverseer714, you can play 5 or 10 turns, that's up to you. There is no need to rush turns as the game is quite big.
I don't think there is much strategy left. We switched off research almost alltogether to cash rush units and just take the AI land as fast as possible. I guess we are going for domination, maybe you can tell at the end of your turns how far we are from this target.
 
We aren't too far, but I think we need artillery, I have had miserable luck with riflemen, even when red-lined. I have finished my turns with mixed luck, I have basically got things down to mostly a single front, with rails laid to set up the next player nicely. We may be able to get domination by filling in the wastelands in the middle and building some temples. My decision to go for RP is easily reversible if we want cash for rushing, and with all 8 luxes and Bachs, we could run at 100% taxes. No need for lux slider. Here is a Screenie for analysis:

Hand-off notes: there are 2 Mongol cities with troops ready to finish those up. Spain is most likely east of Egypt and Russia or offshore, no threat . The Mongols are about done. Basically, we still haven’t hurt Russia, America, and Egypt badly yet. I leave that to the next player. Their Rifles are a real PITA.

got it, will see what I can do to hit the domination limit. I will also look into the issue of infantry and artillery. Usually Cav armies should be fine dealing with rifles.

MM properly and emphasize growth in all those corrupt towns. A lot of cities are building muskets, I think our investment is better done by building cavalry.
Electricity is down to 4 turns now. America has a lot of money and should be milked for that.

take out a Mongol city and conquer Kazan and the Mongols are eliminated from the game

move on the the Egyptians, take Bubastis in the north

take out a few rifles by redlining them before attack. get all cannons back into our land. Cav armies can attack cities
much faster, artillery would only slow them down at this moment.

IT The Ai has a new focal point, Bubastis, good. Russia lands a scary LB in our hinterland :lol:

2.1335AD
take Avaris and Asyut, I think it's good to take them out completely fast to eliminate the flips risks
rail to Avaris and am able to take el-Amarna

get Thebes back and conquer Pi-rameses
take Byblos and see the last Egyptian borders hidden in the FOW
rail in that direction and end next to the last Egyptian city

play very high risk and lose 1 cav army
Manage to take out all 4 remaining American cities and catch 2 settler pairs and America is eliminated
we have now more than 5000gold
found 3 more cities

I leave it to the next last player to rush whatever is needed. we are a 57% domination and will get expansions in 3 and 4 turns and
together with more Russian land, that should be enough.
So, please MM and cash rush at will

I can see that it pays to be aggressive at the right time. I was . .. .. .. .. .-footing around and did very little beyond setting up the next player, and Rat takes out 2 countries in 10 turns. I am impressed:goodjob:
