RawSasquatch/Kramer's New Civilizations

Natan, Im only going to say this once. Stop bloody asking for IS Civs so that you can stomp them flat with a modern Israel Civ, because we both know it's the only reason you keep bringing IS Civs up. It's not going to happen. You are only making people angry. They are right to be angry, because you are being insensitive to a degree that defies imagination. Stop doing it. Stop it now.

I know you won't listen, because you don't listen, ever, but I have to tell you. Because believe it or not, I'm being nice right now. Other people will not be.

For once in your life, be told.

Once again, a word angers you. I did not even talk about ISIS, I just wrote that... name.
I never asked for it to be done as a civ. i also never tried to offend anyone, or to anger anyone, etc. If you think I did, it's your opinion. your opinion. Not the community's opinion. And not the opinion of those "other people".

Next time, instead of posting what you think about me in some random thread, PM me. Its much more appropriate.

We all think that Natan's a little bit loopy, but he seems to have enough self-sustaining logic to actually have his thoughts sorted out. Right now he can't take a shot in the dark towards a very possible desert warfare Civ of ISIS, and yet there's North Korea available for download on Steam, plus it got a lot of popularity after Battle Royale showed up. Both kill, make people's life awful, negate access to knowledge (Uni students at NK do not understand the concept of backing up a claim with evidence, for God's sake!)...

It isn't the best possible Civ to make by a longshot. But it's a possible one, one that can work. Would I? No. But then again, being afraid of something's name creates fear of that something.

I'm still interested in what that 3rd "hills bias" civ is.

I'm tempted to toss my hat into the philosophical discussion, but... at this point, I think it's just detracting from the much more interesting discussion in this thread about RawSasquatch's actual civs. I do think that, within the context of "near-future desert civs that could potentially exist", Natan's random spitballing made a certain amount of sense. Beyond that, I think having an increasingly emotional discussion on the topic of whether or not certain civs should or should not be made as mods ultimately will detract from this thread. So I'd prefer to see the focus of discussion to return to the mods at hand instead.

I'm still interested in what that 3rd "hills bias" civ is.

It's certainly curious, since it's a Hills bias civ with a UU that benefits from Forest and Jungle. A South or Central American civ? I know RawSasquatch had been working on the Yucatan before...?

Turning a blind eye to the current events doesn't really help either.

But I agree with Kerfuffle.

Turning a blind eye isn't what i meant.
I meant don't turn it into entertainment.

An isis civ makes perfect sense. They aren't going to be defeated anytime soon. They are different than other terrorist groups in that they want to make a sovern state. Iraq and Syria are a big joke they were carved out by Britain when the Ottoman empire split up. Both countries have a long history of being run by dictators and now they are gone a new power of disllusioned youth have become radicalized and made a new nation. I say to let isis have a part the middle east defeating them is impossible. England and the Americans are the reason why the middle east is so screwed up. If we wipe them out a new group will just rise in it place.

Do I agree with their terrorism, no but I do recognize them as a future state and therefore a viable civ.

no, no, no...
England is the reason why the middle east is screwed up? really? how exactly is England responsible for the middle east being so screwed up? and the middle east isn't screwed up.
everything in it, though, is.:p
also, ISIS arent going to be an actual state.

on another matter: the hill civ... clues please?

Artificial borders post-Ottoman Empire.

It already was quite a mess, just not as politically pronounced as. Throw in a country that everyone hates in the middle of all it as well as making that country survive everything if not gain things from wars, religious issues and rather debatable laws, and you have the Middle East.

I'm looking forward to the Fallout civs. I've never played it, but it seems there's very few good fictional civs. Typhlomence and Bouncymischa are the only ones I've seen so far. :)

My RawSaquatch favourite waiting list:

1. Bhutan
2. Kurdistan
3. FALLOUT
4. Yucatan
5. Biafra (hope this civ is in his making list)

I'm glad you qualified the end there; for a minute I thought we were talking about the United States! :p

And talking about the USA doesn´t make fun. We should talk about decisions, events or something :p

I don't know. With the exception of the Puuc Hills, the Yucatan is pretty much flat. It's known more for it's porous foundation, cenotes, and underground caverns.

The uniques for the Yucatan are done; RS is just waiting on art and Lua witchcraft before releasing it. God, I remember working on that. I feel old now.

Awww, I'm flattered! But I honestly have to put ViceVirtuoso ahead of myself, due to the imaginative ideas and incredible code he puts into his civs. I also have to give kudos to DarkScythe and Huitzil -- DarkScythe has only produced his one Spice and Wolf civ, but I know it's been a tremendous labor of love for him, and Huitzil's Touhou civs are pretty good with an incredible amount of diplomacy dialogue for him. (I always have to try and include Cirno in my games for her diplomatic responses... "important fairy business" indeed :P)

That said, I've really been enjoying RawSasquatch's California and CSA civs in my games, so I'm eager to see the Fallout civs too!

I get the feeling that the hill civ isnt America related.

Well, Hills plus Forest/Jungle could be some sort of Appalachian civ.

Both of you guys put incredible effort into actually putting quality art and ideas into your mods. Not a common thread in fictional civ mods.
