Techs that give our brother things to build that aren't military might be nice. Astronomy is good for the observatories, but won't it also kill our Colossus?
Sadly, Monty's preferred civic is a long way away...but maybe that's a priority to consider in the medium term. Representation and sufferage aren't likely to be important enough to lose out on the favorite civic bonus, methinks. In which case, the SoL would be better for our bro.
We might want to look at keeping our military strength respectable from now on. I'm more in favour of units that are good in the field. A few longbows are all well and good, but they aren't too well suited for keeping the land unpillaged.
Maybe we can AVOID techs that give a large military advantage. If monty's power is too high, he'll be off killing stuff rather researching and building. Besides, this game won't be too much fun if it's only us and Monty left.
Is serfdom worthwhile once we've whipped spain down to size?
