Reach for a peach?

Decades ago, possibly before you were born, I took a trip by motorcycle with some friends. We passed signs saying "Reach for a Peach" and I thought it to be the Virginia state motto. Just searching it turns out Georgia is, or was, the peach state. Fine and dandy, but I didn't think we got that far south, riding from northern New Jersey. Perplexing problem that might keep me awake nights. Anyone know the answer to where the 'Reach for a Peach' signs might be found alongside I 95?
