I'd pick the Mongols. Got a 33.2 million km² empire by midgame, and since empires don't fracture in Civ IV, it's a smooth ride to 2050 and the time victory.
The USA. The most powerful, also the most highly populated, so when I create my utopia, the most people are benefited first off. Then I use the huge weaponry capability to spread the happiness, after a few years of bloody warfare, across the world. Basically conquest victory but I like to romanticise it
You'd be surprised if I told you, but this forum is not centered around Civ4. Why couldn't you just say Civ? You realize this concept of a leader (that doesn't die through the ages) of a civilization is there since Civ1?

Aside from the crappy graphics (Down with 3D graphics!), Civ's came a long way from Civ1. Some things remain the same. Empires lasts forever unless wipe out by human warmonger and AI still gangs up on the human player. But there's more dimensions added to the game since Civ1: civics, religions, great peoples, culture, diplomatic and space victories........ The game'd evolved a lot.
Anyway, Civ4 the most recent version of the game, so most people would relate to that.
Civ IV is the most recent game (and, I say, the best), the only civ game that I've played in forever, and I figured that most of you all would be playing Civ. IV. Since this is based roughly on the game, it makes sense to have some sort of standard (techs, civics, etc.).
